That night, after I tucked in Britain, Ireland and I sat on the couch together.
"So what was this 'long story' that you told me about earlier?" Ireland asked.
"Oh, yeah, well..." I told her the whole story. She laughed at some parts and was silent for others, but she listened. You know you love her. I thought. It was a secret no one had ever heard. Ever. Especially when I was married to England. I had left my ring on the counter at home. I had deleted England's number from my phone. I wouldn't be needing it anymore. Just sitting and chatting a few feet apart had soon turned into watching TV with my arm around her shoulder and us snuggled up against each other. Before long, she fell asleep. I did too.
I'm sorry this chapter is so short... I got a little lazy. Don't mind me if the chapters keep getting shorter and shorter and shorter, as I'm not a professional writer just yet. 🙂
