EVERYONE KNEW THAT the only daughter of Apollo and Odette Phoenix was different from the rest. They all had their own opinions on the itching feeling of why Melody-Anne Phoenix was so odd. Her parents came from respected pure blood households, both were loyal death eaters to you-know-who, and they raised Melody right and correctly. So what was the odd and different feeling radiating off of the young and pure girl? Maybe it was because she didn't believe in the blood status and wouldn't have minded marrying a muggle born or a even a muggle.

If those words had ever left her mouth then her father would surely have used the killing curse on himself. Melody was born into a pure blooded wizard family who wished death upon muggle borns and blood traitors, frowning upon muggles like dirt. The Phoenix family are a long line of generations after generations filled with pure blood mania. They were all put into the Slytherin house at Hogwarts for centuries. Well — except Melody's older brother and first born son of Odette and Apollo, the disowned Orpheus Apollo Phoenix.

Once Melody was born everything felt blissful. Like a sun kiss in the middle of a beautiful spring morning. The young girl had wavy golden brunette hair, with honey brown eyes, cheeks as red as roses, a large radiant grinning smile, and a small sun kiss tint to her pale skin. In her parents eyes, she was perfect and gorgeous. She was their fresh new start — a new beginning.

Melody was like their prized trophy, but in a good way. She was pure, innocent, and sweet. She had a big heart and was overall a lovely girl. Melody was often in the back of the Phoenix manor in the large garden that was ran by one of their house elves. The young girl would always disappear into the magnificent garden area, singing little lullabies her mother would sing to her. As years went by it officially became her safe haven.

As Melody grew older her thoughts and opinions roamed around like a lost majestic butterfly. She was confused on so many things her father taught her about blood status, muggles, and "the greatest wizard who ever lived". Melody thought that all the cruel and horrid things her father was teaching her wasn't right. It made her rethink everything and made her head ache. All she wanted was the truth and nothing but the truth. The seven year old had finally learned the truth from her thirteen year old brother Orpheus.

Orpheus — in his parents eyes — was the Phoenix son that was going to carry out the family name. He was the one who was to fulfill the spot of being a true pure blooded wizard or, in his case, just like his father. Like Melody, his life had already been planned out for him without him uttering a single word of his own opinion.

But that all changed in his first year at Hogwarts when he was sorted into Hufflepuff. Apollo was beyond furious and outraged that his son wouldn't be in Slytherin house. Every member of the sly Phoenix family was sorted into Slytherin without question. So how come all of a sudden Orpheus was sorted into Hufflepuff of all houses?
