The whole school year of seventh grade flew past so did my birthday and the whole entire summer. I was surprised when I realized I was at school for my first day of school as an eighth grader. I knew almost everything about Hanabi already at that time and she knew almost everything about me. We knew each other's secrets, fears, and friends. I knew once I got to know her better that Hanabi was the best friend I could ever have. She was very nice and could make me laugh when no one else could that one day in seventh grade when she made me smile when I didn't for real and forgot what smiling for real felt like and laugh after I forgot what it felt like to laugh as well. It was like I was in the most wonderful dream but I never woke up because it was reality.
I was happy to find that Hanabi and I were on the same team. If you don't know what a team is, it is when a whole grade is split into two groups called teams and each group has the same teachers for their classes because the whole grade is too big. So we went our separate ways because we had different advisories but after the second day of school, discovered that we have all our other classes together! I was delighted. I knew it was going to be a great year. a whole year being in the same class as my best friend it was going to be awesome!
There were still some conflicts within our group. But I also made some new friends. In seventh grade Hanabi was rarley at our table and had been going to the cafeteria to eat with her other group of friends. Some of my friends thought it was deserting. But I explained to them how she has other friends and she is just dividing her time between us. Well, that was in seventh grade. But this year (sorry I'm in eighth grade right now I think from now on it would be present/past tense) because we are together a lot, we actually go everywhere on campus together. So eventually I met her friends Lucy and Ally were the ones I most friends with now. Hanabi was going to do the Talent show. She was going to sing with Lucy while Ally plays the Piano. I listened and they sounded great! I always thought Hanabi had a great voice. Hanabi and I both loved singing so if either of us started singing or humming a tune that both of us knew the other would join in. The talent show? It was great! most people were singing/dancing though. I thought Hanabi and her group were the best out of all of them.
Band. In Band I play the clarinet and Hanabi plays the flute. We already had our first playing test. I am horrible at the clarinet. Our Band period is a mixture of seventh and eighth graders. I was the last chair for the eighth graders. but out of about 20 clarinets all together and like 18 in my period I was 13th chair. Hanabi is so good at the flute and she is first chair. And I have heard her play before and she is fudging awesome! But I am horrible because I only practice 4 times a week while she practices every day.
All our other classes are normal except Science and Japanese. I am fluent in Japanese so I help Hanabi with her Japanese. And for Science the teacher can speak some Japanese so I have a lot of fun talking to her as well. So classes are more fun and way brighter with Hanabi in them and I laugh and smile (for real) a lot more now. Box at home has got a little flashlight in it right now.

I have fun with Michelle in all my classes we eat lunch together and things. We both walk to campus together. There is almost never a time when people see either of us walking alone. If one of us is, a few moments later the other would appear next to them. We also always have a friend with us when we need one. Like if we need a little help doing something or taking care of something you can count on that friend to help you with it. So it is great.
I no longer despise this place. I finally have a friend and she is in every one of my classes! She is great! She is fluent in Japanese so helps me with homework and classwork in that class. We help each other out in the other classes and if there is a group project try to be in the same group every time. I have a bunch of things I like about being here but there is two main reasons that I stay here...
