"Chill with the lovey dovey sh*t dude.." Shane growled at his best friend as he returned to his living room with a smug smirk.
"Oh..? Is the big bad Shane jealous of me?" Jordan asked grabbing his keys from the table. Lau had just left to take Julie somewhere. Shane glared at him, even by his face you could tell he had been plastered to his girlfriends lips just minutes ago. "It's your own fault. You probably could've had Jules if you had tried harder, man." Jordan grabbed his coat from the back of a chair. "I'll be back later. Peace." He grinned at him and headed out the door.
Shane watched the car pull out of the driveway, his fist clenching. He stood and went outside, hoping the cool air would make him feel a little better. It didn't. He dropped to the ground and started punching it. His knuckles turned red and then he felt a sting. He'd punched a rock. He grumbled to himself, wiping blood away. He sat, thoughts wondering back a month or so. The night he'd gotten drunk and told Jules he loved her. It was fuzzy but he remembered.
"Shane..?" He heard a voice from the back door.
'Jules...' He knew her voice anywhere.
"What're you doing here Jones?" He growled.
"Lau wanted to borrow Jordan's coat and she forgot her phone." She said.
Shane turned to face her. His heart started to hammer in his chest. Her old baggy clothes had been replaced with clothes that almost seemed like she had more curves than she really did. She wasn't the models Shane lusted for but she was still pretty.
She also seemed a bit flustered and Shane frowned. "Jordan left after Lau did. But her phone is on the table." Shane said and got to his feet. Jules nodded and went to turn to go inside.
"Ar.. Are you okay Shane?" She asked, not looking at him but the ground in front of him.
Shane paused and looked at his bloodied knuckle. "No Jules. I'm not." He said looking at her and walking towards her. "Not at all."
Jules looked up at him, her expression grim. Was she remembering that night? Shane frowned more. "I'm gonna be honest here." Her gently but his better hand on her cheek. She froze, nervous. "I know what I said. That night. I remember. I never forgot." He said. Shock showed in her crystalline eyes momentarily. Shane gave a sad smile. "Little minion...." Jules frowned and slapped his hand away angrily.
"I don't feel like that Shane! I never have, I never will. Besides I'm with Evan. Even if I wanted to be with you I can't." She sail bluntly.
Shane snapped. "That freak isn't good enough for you!! I told you I loved you and I get this?! I never wanted to fall for you for all people! You know how I'd rather work. Get laid and leave em. I've never even kissed you and-" he stopped. The realization sinking in. He'd never kissed her.
Shane caught her shocked face in his hands and smashed his lips on hers. But Jules didn't miss a beat. She pushed away from him away, fist against his chest.
"You pervert!" Jules growled at him. "Don't you EVER touch me again Shane Mason! I would bet a bag of ruffles you wouldn't even stay with me anyway!" With that she turned and went inside. He didn't move until he heard the door slam shut.
He couldn't deny her. She was most likely right. He wasn't the boyfriend type.
He sighed walking inside. "I'll never have her..." Shane frowned, he spotted a paper on the floor. 'Jules must've dropped it' he thought. He sat on the couch and opened it.
'Shane,
I'm sorry bout everything... I really am. Try not to get drunk to much.
-Jules'
'She must've wrote it before all that.' He thought. He crumpled it up and threw it across the room and layed on the couch. Then without noticing for the first time in his life...
Shane Mason cried over a girl.
