Mom: Come downstairs y/n we're gonna be late for the airport!
y/n: I'm coming!
It freaking sucks we have to move to New Jersey right before school starts. I'm not even gonna know anyone there ugh.

~at the airport~

mom: y/n stop stressing about school. youre attractive. you'll be fine.
y/n: "attractiveness" only goes a long way in life, mom
mom: yes well that's where personality comes in of course! you have to learn to talk to people y/n.
y/n: save it. i'm going to bed

you landed in new jersey and drove to your new home

mom: Wow. this place is cool!
y/n: it's....okay....
mom: don't be such a stick in the mud y/n. Go pick a room and bring boxes inside
y/n: k.

y/n: this room looks good
???: not as good as you.
y/n: WHO THE HELL ARE YOU
???: stop screaming. nobody can even see me but you. you'll look insane. relax
y/n: look, idk what kind of game you're trying to play, but it's not working......like at all...

I thought he was kinda cute.

???: You're not the first one to move in here since i died.
y/n: you're insane. get out.
???: already tried. i can't leave....haven't been able to since-
y/n: look idc. just get out of my room before i call the police.
???: They won't be able to see me idiot.
y/n: fine. i'll bite. wanna tell me what's up with you?
???: not really. i'll keep myself a mystery for now. all you need to know is i'm dead and only you can see me.
y/n: okay? what are you? like a demon or something
???: something like that....but i'm dead
y/n: *laughs*
???: what.
y/n: okay okay, sorry sorry, how'd you die.
???: like i said. i'll be a mystery for now. byeeee

he walked backwards out of my room and disappeared. at that point, maybe i believed him.

mom: y/n! who are you talking to?
y/n: uh, just some friends on the phone mom!
mom: come help me carry these boxes in!
y/n: fine!
