The Shocker (literally)

"I was WHAT?! Why haven't you told me this before?!!!", I said with mixed feelings, I didn't know if I was angry or sad or tired or weak because the news shocked me.
"I'm sorry Duchess. Your dad didn't want you to know. So we kept it a secret until the day he died of Cancer. It was a grievous loss and I couldnt help but look for another source of happiness. So I got married to your stepdad some years after".
My recent "dad" is my Stepdad? I had two dads? Okay this is just messed up. Whatttttttt?!
"It was hard for your stepdad and I, especially me, to tell you... but since you turned 17, we decided it was right to tell you", my mum said. She continued, "After I got married. I couldn't get pregnant because of some complications and years later your stepdad and I decided to adopt some babies for company. It's not like he didn't have money to get married to another girl but because he didn't want to." Like I just wanted to know why but the fact "my stepdad" didn't want to get married is none of my business. Like why is she even telling me that? It's not necessary. I know you wouldn't know why but... why???
"So u weren't happy with my dad?! I wasn't enough happiness for you?! You know what "mum", I'm done here", I stood up and left forgetting about my Netflix movie, I can forget things sooo fast! My head was aching from the thoughts I was having. I ran to my room and dialed my bestfriend, Cairo, and told her I wanted to see her ASAP. She's the only one who can cheer me up during my moody days.

We met at Starbucks and we chatted and tried out some new drinks. Then I told Cairo everthing my mum told me. She comforted me as I cried my hearts out. "It's not the end of the world Duch", Cairo said. I cried, " But none of them are my blood". Cairo gave me a straight look at the face and said "Your dad didn't have a biological baby and he adopted you as a child of his own, do not underrate his effort. He helped you - from an or....", she trailed off. I knew what she wanted to say and she was right though so I'm not offended. "I understand", I said and hugged her tight, "Thank you".
