The familiar laughter boomed through my grandparents(my moms side) house. It was 4th of July and the whole family was at the usual holiday house. My grandparents, Rose and Charlie, hosted everything since as long as I could remember. Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, even Labor Day. They always loved the excuse to throw a party.

Anyway, today was a hot 4th of July in Miami. It was only 2:00pm so dinner wasn't gonna be served for at least another three hours. I wasn't so sure these people could hold out that long, there had to be 25 maybe 30 people there. I was playing with my new baby cousin when I heard my mom calling me in the kitchen.

"Charlie!? Can you come here for a second?"

Yeah, I know Charlie's a boy name but it's short for Charlotte. Plus I'm kinda named after my Grandaddy Charlie.

"Yeah mom." I said when I entered the kitchen.

"Oh! Sweetie guess who's coming over?" She asked in a excited voice. "Who?" I asked, just slightly on edge.

"Ron, Kim, and Sean!" "Oh my gosh really? That's awesome!" "Yup, they should be here in a few minutes."

As I walked away I stared having a major flash back. Sean was my cousin. I hadn't seen him since I was 7 years old, right before I moved to Atlanta, GA. I remember chasing him around the house just to annoy him. Family members always would tease us that we liked eachother. The thing was I wasn't so sure how we were related. No one ever told us. He was a year older and we were the best of friends. But that was 7 years ago.

After a while I heard the doorbell ring.

When I opened the door it Seans parents Kim and Ron. They looked pretty good since the last I saw them. Ofcousre they gave me a huge hug and told me how grown up I looked. Then behind them I saw Sean and got the shock of my life. He was no longer that skinny, no teeth little 8 year old boy. He had grown up and was absolutely gorgeous. His dark brown hair had grown out, kinda like Justin Bieber. His eyes were a lot bluer than I remembered. Is lips were full and perfect.

I just stood their wide-eyed like an idiot. And suddenly feeling very self-conscious
