I'm thinking out loud, people fall in love in mysterious ways, maybe just a touch of a hand..... Ed Sheeran's voice rings through my worn in Volkswagen Jetta as I coast down Village Street. I can't help but become irritated by the love story the song is telling. I don't see my Prince Charming anywhere. The poor idiot is probably stuck in a ditch with my luck. As much as I love Ed, I turn off the radio because the sound of true love is sickening and discouraging at the moment. My car rolls to a stop as I approach yet another red light.

"I can't believe it!" I groan to myself.

"Why of all days did this have to be the day that I get all red lights? I'm late enough for dance as it is. Ms. Tiffany is going to be so pissed." I hit my wheel in frustration.

Once I make it to town I hastily park, grab my bag and point shoes and make a run for it. I skid into the dressing room and tie my point shoes, throw my hair into a messy bun, and toss my bag into an open cubby.

"You're late Katheirne, this isn't like you." I hear Ms. Tiffany's disappointed voice from the front of the classroom once I find my place at the bar next to the other girls.
"I'm sorry, I hit literally ever red light on the way here. I came as fast a possible." I squeak not wanting to cause a scene.
"I understand just don't make it a habit." She sighs and then continues the class. I sigh, realived, and slide into my splits ready to dance for an hour or two.

After the class is over the rest of the girls and I go to the dressing room to change out of our point shoes and then wrap our aching and blistered feet.
"I can't believe Ms. Tiffany wasn't pissed at you!" I look up when I hear Allison, whom I've dancing with since middle school, approach me.
"I know, it was a close call I thought I was done for!" I laugh.
"She would never be mad at you, everyone knows you're her favorite student." Jade, my arch nemesis, spits at the other side of the room. My cheeks heat up with embarrassment and I don't say anything more except a goodbye to Allison when she leaves.
It really bothers me that the girls always treat me like I think I'm better than them. I know Ms. Tiffany has always liked me but I wish no one would really bring attention to it. I'm not trying to sound, or be seen as stuck up.

I leave the studio and make my way to White Mountain Smoothie, which is my post class ritual. I honestly don't think I could live without my strawberry banana smoothie. Distracted, I gaze up at the changed leaves on the trees due to autumn weather and don't see the body I instantly collide with outside the smoothie shop doors.

"Ugh," I here a grunt from the poor victim of my clumsiness as we both tumble to the sidewalk.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" I frantically apologize as I scramble to pick up my point shoes, water bottle, and hair brush that have all fallen out of my dance bag.
"No worries, I wasn't watching where I was going." My eyes look up when the stranger with the incredibly attractive English accent hands me a shoe I dropped. He has vivid green eyes, a goofy grin, and medium wavy brown hair. I also notice a few tattoos peaking out of his sweatshirt. Catching myself slightly staring I blush and look down.

"Are you alright? I hope I didn't hurt you." He scratches his neck as he looks down at me. And when I say "looks down" I really mean it. He is, and I'm just guessing here, about 5'11 to my 5'3.
"Ya I'm good. Sorry I wasn't watching where I was going." I adjust the strap of my bag.
"Well again, really sorry." He bashfully smiles and then walks into White Mountain Smoothies leaving me stunned and still confused on the sidewalk.
"I think that is the most handsome guy I've seen in my whole life," I think to myself.

Shaking my head with a smile I walk into the smoothie shop, remembering the reason I was outside the shop in the first place.
I stand behind the mysteriously handsome stranger as I observe him ordering a green power smoothie.
"So he's health conscience.... I like that in a guy," I think to myself as I wait my turn. He gives me a small smile after he pays and then he leaves.

"Hi Katherine! How are you? The usual?" Jerry the smoothie guy greets me.
"Yes please, and I'm great thanks." I reply. I've known Jerry since I was about 8, aka when my smoothie addiction started. He's a super nice guy and everyone in the small town of Pine, New Hampshire loves him.

"Here you go! One strawberry banana smoothie!" He hands me a familiar white and orange disposable cup. I move to pull out my wallet to pay him but he puts his hand up motioning for me to stop.
"No need to pay. That English boy covered your drink." Jerry winks and shoos me away.
Confused I leave the shop and head to my car.

"He payed for my drink.... Now why can't more guys be like that and not such assholes?" I wonder.
Once I get home a throw away my smoothie cup and head to my room since nobody is home yet. I plop my tired body on my heavenly bed and close my eyes to nap.

"Oh my God Katherine are you upstairs? You won't believe what my Dad did!" Ladies and gentlemen, enter Stephanie Forbs, my best friend.
"I'm in my room Steph!" I tiredly call her up. I was really hoping to get a nap in before the neighborhood Thanksgiving weekend cookout tonight but by the sound of if that's not happening.

I've known Stephanie since I could barley walk. We've been neighbors as long as I can remember and joined to the hip since our first play date. She's outgoing, overly optimistic, and insanely hot. Basically the the complete opposite to me. She has blonde hair, I have brown. She has these insane blue eyes and I have boring brown ones. The biggest difference is she is drop dead gorgeous and has these insanely long legs that had all the guys drooling over her in high school where as I'm a midget with a petite figure and absolutely no boobs. I blame it on my mom's side of the family.

"Ok so," Stephanie starts to blab as she comes in and throws herself on the bed with me.
"My Dad got pissed because I spilt my nail polish all over the new living room rug so as punishment he wants me to set up all the tables and chairs for the cookout tonight!" I try not laugh at this minor punishment that Steph seems to think is the worst thing that has happened to her.
"How am I supposed to do all that and get ready for the party?!" She huffs over dramatically like a drama queen (which she is being at the moment).
"Relax I'll help you." I mumble closing my eyes.
"OMG thank you Katherine!! You're the best!" She screams.
"Ya, ya just one condition. You need to let me sleep at least twenty minutes so get out because I tired from dance." I tell her sternly eyes still closed as I lay down on my pillows.
"Deal! Meet me at my place in twenty!" She jumps up and leaves the room in a better mood than she came in with.

As I drift off I remember the hot stranger I ran into earlier this afternoon and make a mental note to inform Steph while we set up. I can guarantee she will be all over this.
