"I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night.
He's gotta be strong. And he's gotta be fast. And he's gotta be fresh from the fight."
Runa sang loudly to the music blasting in her ears as she skipped down the sidewalk.
"I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light. He's gotta be sure. And it's gotta be soon. And he's gotta be larger than life."
Runa spun around letting arms fly out.
"I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night."
Runa froze then started playing air drums and slide sideways as the song began to play a short instrumental. She spread out her arms as the music began again.
"Up where the mountains meet the heavens above. Out where the lightning splits the sea. I could swear there is someone, somewhere, watching me. Through the wind, and the chill, and the rain. And the storm, and the flood. I can feel his approach like a fire in my blood!"
Runa spun around with her arms out to her side. She felt something hit her left fist, hard. Runa quickly whipped her head to see what she hit. Runa looked down to see a green haired boy on the ground holding his left cheek. Runa quickly pulled out her headphones.
"Oh my glob, I am so sorry. Are you okay?" Runa knelt down next to the boy. He looked up with a small smile and small tears in his eyes.
"I am fine, sorry for bumping into you." Runa shook her head as she helped him up.
"Don't apologize. I was the one not watching where I was going. I was too busy singing," Runa gave him an embarrassed smile. The boy blushed.
"I heard you singing, it was good." He said shyly looking away from her. Runas face brightened.
"Thanks. By the way I am Runa Hosoo," Runa held out her hand. The boy shook his hand.
"I am Izuku Midoriya, it's nice to meet you." Runas' smile grew bigger and Midoriya's face grew redder. Runa pushed up her glasses, finally noticing a ruined notebook in his hands.
"What happened to your notebook?"
"I dropped it in some mud," Midoriya said with a nervous laugh. Runa looked at him suspiciously.
"Well that had to be some rough mud." Runa said. "It's okay not to tell me what really happened, we did just meet after all." Runa tossed her long braid back over her shoulder and pushed her glasses up again. Midoriya watched as the braid landed on her back and stilled. The end of her braid was inches from the ground. Runa opened her mouth when her phone started to blare the song she was just singing. Runa picked up the phone.
"Where the f*ck are you?!" a voice yelled. Midoriya winced at the loudness. Runa rolled her eyes.
"I am almost there. I accidentally punched someone, I was making sure they were okay," Runa calmly replied.
"How the h*ll do you accidentally f*cking punch someone?"
"Dancing." Runa deadpanned. "I will be there in a few."
Runa hung up the phone before her potty-mouth boyfriend could respond. Runa gave Midoriya an apologetic smile.
"Is everything okay?" he nervously asked. Runa nodded.
"Yes, my boyfriend is very impatient." Runa shrugged and failed to notice the brief disappointment Midoriya displayed on his face. "Anyway, it was nice meeting you Midoriya. I gotta go before he starts to blow up."
