The clock struck midnight, signalling that he needed to go or his life might end. He knew that if he were to stay, they would find him.
That can't ever happen....
He shoved his papers back into the file holder and put the file into his briefcase. He ran around the room to check to see if he had gotten everything he needed.
Seeing that he did, he raced out of the house, frantically put the keys into the ignition, and drove off into the night. He couldn't believe that they would kill him over what he figured out.
But then again, this would change the entire world...
A call pulled him out of his thoughts and he touched the touchscreen on his car to answer it.
"Hey ------. I heard you're in the car," the voice stated as if it already knew where he was.
"Yeah, I'm in." ------ heard a sound in the distance and looked up to see a black SUV following him closely. He knew what that meant. "I can't talk for long; I got company coming to see me. Hopefully I'll see you there."
The voice sighed before saying, "Yeah....ok yeah I'll see you there. Just....look. Don't do anything you'll regret. Talk to you soon". The call immensely ended after that.
A little late for that don't you think, ++++++. After all, this is a cure we're talking about...
Sorry about the lack of names. The one in the plus signs I just don't have a name for yet. I'll put one in a couple days. The other one is a secret that you have to read to find out. Hopefully, I'll edit this book soon. I'm liking the idea of it so far, considering recent events. Leave comments on what you think I should do for next chapter. See you on the flip side!
