Six months later, Wei Ying hummed to himself as he happily made himself a cup of tea and helped himself to some spicy noodles. Lan Zhan entered and stared at the bowl of spicy noodles then at the bulging belly hidden underneath the table.
Lan Zhan pushed the chair to the table and swiped the bowl of noodles.
"Hey! My noodles!" Wei Ying cried sadly.
In response, Lan Zhan pushed a bowl of rice gruel in front of him instead to which Wei Ying grumbled and complained.
"Your Lan family likes bland things so much, but I want my spicy noodles!" Wei Ying groaned.
"Not good for the child," Lan Zhan stated bluntly.
Wei Ying's face twisted as he glared at his large belly, but then a fun idea appeared in his head, "If you finish that bowl of noodles, I'll forgive you and eat my congee."
Lan Zhan hesitated, but in the end, he pulled the bowl of fiery red noodles to himself. Wei Ying scooped a spoon of plain congee into his mouth as he watched Lan Zhan's unchanging face. Despite the bland taste, Wei Ying ate this meal happily.
After Lan Zhan had sent Wei Ying for a nap, he returned to the study to find a sheet of manuscript paper. He elegantly drew a few music notes down as he recalled the tune that Wei Ying hummed. A hint of a smile emerged as he recalled the tune.
Three months following this, Jiang Cheng furiously yelled into the phone, "You were so scared of Fairy that you were sent into labour early! Are you joking! Do you want the whole world to think our family is made up of chickens like you!"
"Jiang Cheng, calm down. He's going into labour. When I had Jin Ling it was an unnerving experience. Try to calm him down rather than yell at him," YanLi sighed.
By the time Jiang Cheng and Yan Li made it to the hospital and rushed to the maternity ward, Lan Zhan was already holding a baby while Wei Ying was actively apologising.
"I'm sorry Lan Zhan, I didn't mean to call you a damned frosty snowflake bastard for putting a child in me! Forgive me!" Wei Ying apologised.
"Mn," Lan Zhan responded.
Jiang Cheng and Yan Li approached, "Have you thought of a name?"
Wei Ying instantly brightened up as he clapped his hands together, "We've thought about it for months. His name is going to be Lan Sizhui. His personal name will be Wen Yuan. A' Yuan, meet your uncle and aunt."
YanLi leaned close to Sizhui as she smiled, "Xiao Yuan, be good friends with Jin Ling, ok?"
A year later, Lan Zhan was once again playing the notes of the final song of the concert filled with brilliant lights. The song was beautifully crafted and was the first and only song that Lan Zhan had ever written. It was a song filled with uncertain emotions, longing, pain and love that could never be expressed any other way. As the final notes of the song came to an end, thunderous applause once again exploded from the audience. The curtains fell.
The loud mutterings of the audience members could be heard even behind the curtains as they walked to the exit, "That last song was great wasn't it? Lan WangJi is such a good composer. I wonder why he only composed that one song?"
"What would you know? I heard that song was written for his lover," another audience member muttered.
"What was the song called again? I need to search for it online," another audience member asked.
"You won't find it. That song is only played live at his concerts. If it weren't so difficult to listen to that song, why would people scramble to buy tickets for the concert?"
"Yes, but what's the song called again?"
"WangXian. It's called WangXian."
Behind the curtains backstage, a little boy toddled over to Lan Zhan's seat. Lan Zhen bent over to pull him over to his lap.
"As a reward for play so well today, I'll give you some extra service tonight," Wei Ying whispered suggestively as he leaned down to kiss his lover.
"Mn," Lan Zhan agreed.
