How do you get over the pains of the past,
When it's so clear they're all gonna last?
It's not easy you know when life is based on fear,
And after 25 years you can still hear the words whispered in your ear.
Be a good girl! Dont make a sound!
This is our secret! You are so special now!
When family betrays you with a sick and twisted mind.
And no one believes you, he has such an upstanding side.
He got away with your innocence and the spirit he stole.
It took you years for the truth to be told.
It shouldn't have happened. Someone should have knew.
And all you remember is how the system failed you.
You struggle every day for a little peace of mind.
To fake a smile tho the depression is right there inside.
With pain in your heart and tears always behind your eyes,
You go through life with a fear that ties.
So how do you get over the pains of your past,
