“Hey we are home!” Alicia and Niall sing in unison as they walk through the big double doors hand in hand. Alicia has her left in her pocket to hide the ring on her finger. Trying not to smile too much even though she knew Keannia would see right through her random bubbliness because not only did she know her better than anyone else, besides Louis, Alicia hadn’t tried to be this ‘sly’ since when she first tried to hide the fact that she liked Niall.
“I’m going straight to bed, all those memories are too much for me right now, but Keannia I have to tell you something, come in the bedroom with me.” said Alicia as she didn’t even take off her jacket before walking upstairs towards the bedroom.
“Okay, in a minute, I’m going to have a word with Niall and Harry in the kitchen.”
“No, come here now.” She said with force, “Please?” she said trying to cover up the force that was previously in her voice.
“Okay, fine, I’m coming, this better be important.”
“It is, trust me.”
Once Keannia reached the bedroom she noticed immediately what was so important, she saw the shiny ring on Alicia’s previously bare hand. “So he did propose early? I knew he would, he just can’t wait for things like that.”
“YOU KNEW? AND YOU DIDN’T TELL ME?” she whisper screamed, trying to not have anybody else in the house hear.
“Yeah, that was the other surprise I couldn’t tell you. I knew from the beginning when he first told Haz. He tried to hide it from me when I overheard their conversation, but I saw right through that Irishman’s lies.”
“I can’t believe you knew this whole time and didn’t tell me.” she said pacing around the bedroom.
“Oh calm yourself, at least he has proposed, Harry is too scared to…” she trailed off plopping down on the bed.
“It’s not that scared to propose, he is scared that you will say no. Niall was the exact same way; he was telling me before he showed me the lights and the banner.”
“What lights? And what banner?”
“Oh, here I’ll show you, I took a picture of it.” Alicia said just getting her jacket off and unlocking her iPhone to pull up the picture and video of the answer. She had no idea that Niall had videotaped her reaction, “HE FILMED IT? NIALL GET UP HERE! NOW!”
“What darling?” he said jogging in the room.
“You filmed my reaction when you proposed?”
“Yeah, I wanted to show your parents when they come next week. Why, is that a problem?”
“No, well… No, it just… It’s cute. I… I’ve never… I’ve never had someone be that… adorable with me.” She said through her devolving tears. “I love you so much, you know that right?”
“Yes, of course I do, I love you too babe.” He said embracing her in a famous Horan hug.
“Well, it looks like I’m not needed here anymore; I’ll just leave you two to the love fest.” said Keannia walking out of the door.
“Hey, come here, you wanted to see right?” said Alicia grabbing Keannia by the arm.
“Yeah, of course.” she said sitting next to Alicia and Niall on the chaise lounge in her bedroom. She finished watching the video and looking at the picture and was just in awe of the cute plan “Dang, Niall, that was adorable. I can’t believe you took her to the lodge and did it there, that place is like our teenage heaven, and it was always so gorgeous. I can’t wait for Harry’s plan to propose… if he ever does…” she said getting sad again.
“Don’t worry, he will, you just have to wait for the moment, just enjoy the fact that you are dating one of the most famous boys in the world.” said Niall being cocky. “Wait, that’s not what I meant! Damnitall, I really need to work on my response system.”
“It’s okay, I knew what you meant, I just don’t think he loves me enough to propose, besides, we haven’t been dating as long as you guys have.” She stated as her face drops, “It’s not like we have been dating for two and a half years or anything…” she states trying to play it off like it’s too soon.
“That is exactly what I told Ni before, actually minutes before, he proposed, so maybe it’s going to happen soon. You don’t know it could be days away, maybe even hours or minutes away.” She said dropping Niall’s hand from hers to go wrap an arm around her friends shoulder.
“Well that makes it a little better.” She said trying to smile through the sadness.
“It should, want me to talk to him and ask when he is then just ‘accidentally’ tell Alicia to tell you?” Niall butted in trying to help his friend out.
“No, but if you just want to bring it up to him you can. When are you guys going to tell the rest of the group?”
“We were going to try and hide it until next week but we both kind of have loud mouths and are really bad with secrets so I have no idea if we can keep it that long.”
“What do you think will give it away? When you call each other Mr. Horan and Mrs. Horan? Or that sparkly ring on her finger? Because if it’s the ring, I have an old chain that would be long to string the ring on so you can hide it in your shirt, if you want.”
“Yeah, sure, if you want to give me a chain, I’ll string it on that and just wear his shirts around the house to try and hide the lump, that would be much appreciated.”
“Okay, I’ll go get it now.” Keannia said walking out of the bedroom. She walked back in with a thin vintage looking gold chain in her hand. “Here it is. Hey, are you going to tell Haz that you finally popped the question?”
“We were actually hoping you would tell him for us..?” said Niall hopefully.
“Yeah, sure, I’ll tell him tonight when everybody is in bed.”
