Baekhyun's first scan for his surgery was lined up on next other day, and Chanyeol could see the other visibly tense up at the mere mention of it. Baekhyun fidgeted through the entire journey, answering Chanyeol's questions in a word or two which he was beginning to understand that it was something Baekhyun did when he was nervous.
"Open your eyes as wide as you can." The nurse gently tilted the torch to Baekhyun's eyes.
Baekhyun obeyed instantly, his eyes sparkling from the light. Chanyeol wanted to reach out and close the tiny space that Baekhyun had put between them.
"Everything looks good. Doctor Park will be with you in a minute."
Chanyeol fought back a snort. Yoora had checked on him last night to make sure he wouldn't miss Baekhyun's checkup, subtly threatening to skin him alive if he didn't.
Baekhyun shivered as the door closed behind the nurse.
"You alright?" Chanyeol asked. The itch to touch was back.
Baekhyun hummed softly. "Just nervous."
"For what? This is what you want, right?" getting Baekhyun's sight back had always been part of the plan.
