In the corner, footsteps echoed. I turned and caught Minister Harold. Towards him I ran, thinking “Finally, he’s all mine now. “
But as I turned to the right, my feet come to an instantaneous halt when a grotesque shape appeared. It’s a black shadow like a ghoul. The outer part seemed to be grainy like ash was being poured onto it. I’ve never seen anything like it. Following my instinct, I took a step backward. I was caught in apprehension and tried to steady my breath.
The black shadow did not linger long. First, its shape malformed and rushed into the Minister’s heart. Black translucent glow surrounds the body. Mouth agape, hands spread out, his eyes opened wide, staring at me with a desperate cry for help. And, within seconds, he fall. It happened so fast that all I could do was watch. Then the shape came back out and disappears as it hits the ground.
I walked towards the body. Eventhough it is quite evident that he was dead, I needed to ascertain it. I put my hand on his neck and could feel nothing but cold chill. I stare at the lying corpse, trying to comprehend what happened just now. What was that thing? What has it done? Why I’ve never seen it? All these questions kept rushing through my mind. Before I could stand back on ground, I realize my mission is all messed up.
I scrambled to my feet. Then my neck felt a cold solid chill, a gun. “Hands up,” a voice deep called out. The man in the uniform cuffed my hand and led me to the cell.
