That night while I laid in bed my thoughts kept returning to Dante. She had been so cold and distant to me. Her whole exterior was cold and covered in frost, yet in her eyes there was a burning fire that called out to me. I felt connected to her somehow. Almost as if we were meant to meet each other at the library.
I rolled over onto my side and stared out the window. It was a full moon and the silver beams were flowing into the window and onto the floor. It reminded me of Dante’s eyes. Her eyes were like the liquid mercury that the chemistry teachers used in their classes. I found myself wondering how a person could actually be born with such an eye color. I made a mental note to myself to ask one of the biology teachers at the school in the morning. Surely there was some kind of genetic thing that could explain it. It certainly didn’t looked like she wore contacts, and she didn’t seem like that kind of person. She wouldn’t change her physical appearance to gain attention.
Actually the more I thought about it, the more it seemed like she didn’t want attention at all. She had been sitting in the darkest corner of the room, very secluded, and she was wearing very casual clothes, nothing very noteworthy at all. Simple dark blue jeans, black long sleeve shirt and a black leather coat.
Wow, I’m such a creep! I thought to myself.
Well, either way, the look suited her just as well as her name. Simple, yet strong and durable.
Much sooner than I wanted, I found myself falling asleep with the image of Dante floating in my mind.
