Turning the shower handle off I grab my towel and head for my room. Today is back to school, after two weeks of winter break. Today many are curious to find out who moved into the house down the street from me, in small towns people like to know everything.
I throw on my normal day wear, jeans, a long sleeve green shirt, a sweater, and a pair of brown boots. I brush my hair and leave it down and add light makeup.
I grab my purse and make my way down stairs. Both of my parents are already at work. I grab my keys and head to school.
I pull into my regular parking spot and make my way past all the kids socializing and catching up after the break, I make my way to my locker and find Jason and McKenna standing next to my locker usual. Jason and McKenna have been my best friends since like 3rd grade.
"hey guys how was your break?" I say making it to my locker. "Blake!" they both say unison. They both go on to tell me about how boring town was while I was gone as I pull my english folder out of my locker.
We get to Ms. Swings room and take our normal seats on the far side of the room. After the bell rings it takes the class a minute to settle down, Ms. Swing then begins to ask us about our holidays and what not.
Ms. Swing is interrupted by a loud knock at the door, Mr. Cord our principal entered the room followed by a tall dirty blonde. "Ladies and Gentlemen this is Liam Easton, him and his family just moved to town I hope all of you help give Mr.Easton and warm welcome to our town, and school" Mr.Cord ranted on and on about how we should make him feel like welcome. His eyes scan the room but then stop, on me. We keep eye contact for a few seconds and I pull my eyes away from his.
After Mr. Cord was done talking Liam took a seat on the row over.
They first part of the day went by pretty slow, by the time it was lunch I was ready to go home.
Entering the lunch room I make my way over to our normal table and find McKenna already sitting down. "Oh my god let me tell you" she screams with excitement as I sit down, she then goes on to tell me about how Ray Clark asked her for a piece of paper today in math and how they had a total connection. She has a new boy each week so I don't pay much attention, I find my eyes wondering over to where Liam is sitting, is first day and he's already surrounded by the jocks and popular kids.
"Hello?? Are you even listening" McKenna says waving her hand in my face "yes, first he ask for a piece of paper next he will be professing his love" I say trying hard not to sound too sarcastic. "Who's professing love?" Jason says taking a seat next to me. "Ray Clark asked me for a piece of paper today in math" McKenna says sounding mesmerized by the situation. "Ahhh her new flavor of the week" Jason says and we both laugh. McKenna then goes on to defend herself by saying what they have is "true".
After lunch the day seems to fly by, I shared two more classes with Liam after lunch. In each class he seemed to be the center of attention.
The dismissal bell rings and I walk out with Jason. "Sorry I can't stay after today, my parents want me home for some dinner." I tell Jason "Since when
did you guys start having dinner as a family?" Jason ask " my parents are inviting over on of their partners at the law firm" I say sounding annoyed "well good luck" he says as we make it to my car.
