Chapter 1: Failing

MiNa POV

"MiNa-sshi.... You're failing my class..."

Mr. Kim said.

"Eh?"

I replied.

"Ne... Do you realize what can happen is you don't pass your classes?"

He asked me. I paused because I didn't want to answer.

"That means that you won't be able to graduate this year..."

He told me. I looked at the floor as my heart deflated.

"If you don't pass your midterms and finals this year.... Then you will not be able to graduate."

He said.

"I hope you can study hard in order to pass... And by the way, your midterms are in a month..."

Mr. Kim said as he grabbed his papers and left the classroom. I stood in the room, wondering of what to do next... I can't graduate?! My parents will kill me if I don't graduate! Oetokke!?

Three days passed and there hasn't exactly been any progress in my studying or my knowledge in any of my subjects. I tried to study.... That didn't exactly work... I tried to talk to the smart people in my class.... But I didn't exactly get along with them... What am I going to do!? I screamed in the empty hallway as I ruffled my hair.

"MiNa-sshi?"

I heard a familiar voice say down the hall. I immediately turned around and composed myself. I saw Mr. Kim and an unfamiliar student next to him.

"Oh! Annyounghasaeyo, songsangnim..."

I replied as I blushed from my previous self a while ago. Mr. Kim smiled and pointed out the student next to him.

"This is your tutor.. I heard that you have been trying to study, but you couldn't understand the material, so I decided to help you with your predicament and got you one of the smartest students in your class.. MiNa... This is Kim JoonMyun."

Mr. Kim said. I looked at JoonMyun from head to toe. He had big round glasses, was quite short, not really attractive in any way, he just seemed like a normal nerd to me. Although he does look a little familiar..... Aha! He was that nerd that was the class president and he was often out of class, but still aced his tests! He's supposedly a genius! But him... Out of all the other nerds of the school, I wanted to reject, but then again I need all the help I can get with my grades also.... He's a genius! There must be some sort of trick to how he passes his tests!

"Ne Kamsahabnida, Mr. Kim."

I replied to Mr. Kim. Mr. Kim nodded and left JoonMyun and I in the hallway. I wanted to get away as fast as possible, but JoonMyun suddenly spoke up.

"So I guess we'll meet at your house?"

He asked.

"Ne."

I said bluntly. I turned away quickly and tried to walk off, but I was suddenly pulled back. I looked back and saw JoonMyun pulling my arm towards him.

"You didn't give me your address."

He said with a monotone voice. I nodded and handed him a sheet of paper with my address on it. As I walked off, I looked back at JoonMyun once more. His strength was pretty strong for a short, skinny nerd like him... Maybe he works out in his free time or something... Not my business....
