The next day I was anxious to go to breakfast. I was worried, what Draco thought of me and whether he would say anything to our friends.
I like to think I'm tough and that I don't care what anyone thinks of me, but I do care what my friends think of me.
I found myself feeling unsatisfied with my appearance, no matter what I did with my hair, or how I did my makeup. Why did I suddenly care? I needed to get a fucking grip.
I eventually forced myself out of the dormitory and went to the great hall for breakfast along with Pansy and Millicent.
"There they are." Pansy stated and began walking down the hall to the end of the slytherin table. I felt a jolt of dread rush through me as I saw Draco sat there, toying with his food. I wanted to freeze right there on the spot in the middle of the hall but forced myself over to the table and sat in the spare seat next to Crabbe.
"Good Morning." Draco remarked, flashing that devil's smile again. "Sleep well?"

I met his gaze confidently, a smirk on my face, "Yes, I did, thank you. And you?"

He raised his glass to his lips, "like a log." He smiled. I didn't believe that, judging by the dark circles under his eyes, had he really been hooking up with someone too? Wait, why do I care? It's none of my business.

"I did not sleep well." Pansy remarked, "I kept hearing noises. Like someone was coming in and out of the room!"

I glanced up at Draco, bracing myself for him to say something, but he didn't. I appreciated that. Instead, he just held my gaze, and took a bite out of his apple.
That stirred something in me, and I found myself fixating a second too long on the apple, fuck.
At least he wasn't wearing that suit today.

We had potions today, our first lesson with the new professor Slughorn. We were challenged to concoct "Felix Felicis" which was also known as "liquid luck." I was focusing on gathering the ingredients for the potion when I felt someone behind me and a voice in my ear.
"So, who were you meeting?"

I turned my head slightly, unsuprised to see a mop of blonde hair.

"That.." I replied, dropping an ingredient into my cauldron, "is none of your business."

"We're friends Daphne! C'mon."

Oh.
I don't know why I was disappointed to hear this.

"Then I appreciate you not telling anyone." I replied, meeting his gaze.

He looked disappointed.

Class ended, after Harry Potter won the Felix Felicis, and I was walking to my next lesson Transfiguration. Then suddenly Draco was walking beside me.
"I just want to know who he is." Draco muttered.

I looked at him shocked, why was he so persistent? "Why? You can't control me."

He gritted his teeth. Opened his mouth, then his expression changed. His eyes widened as he noticed something down the corridor.
I looked where he was looking, but there was nothing peculiar apart from students on their way to class and Professor Snape coming toward us.
Suddenly Draco's arm was on my shoulders, steering me abruptly to the left down a different corridor.
"Draco what are you doing?!" I exclaimed. He opened a supply closet and pushed me in, then closed the door on the two of us.

"What the fu-" I started but was silenced by his hand over my mouth.

"Sssh." He hissed. I was silent, and heard approaching footsteps that grew louder as they neared the door, then got quieter as they passed and carried on down the hall. Draco exhaled, looking relieved and slowly took his hand off my mouth.
I was about to say something until I realised how close his face was to mine. Our eyes were locked into one another's, and our lips were centimetres apart. It suddenly felt incredibly silent, and like time was moving slower than ever. Draco's eyes skimmed over my lips, and he began to move his head down slightly and toward mine. I tilted my head up, parting my lips slightly. I could feel his breath on my face, and my heart was beating out of my chest.
Then suddenly he lunged forward, breaking the small space left between us and crashing his lips onto mine strongly, but slowly. We held the kiss for a long moment, not moving, as if we were adjusting to what was going on. Then our lips separated, and he looked at me, slightly shocked and breathless, and we stared for a moment, as if we were trying to figure out what just happened and how we felt about it.
One thing was for sure, I wanted to kiss him again. But suddenly the door of the closet opened and Filch was standing there with his usual disgusted expression.
"What are you two doing in here? It's lesson time! That's detention!" He snarled, pointing for us to exit the supply closet.
