Violetkit glanced atound; no-one had noticed her. She slipped into the elders den and found Berrywillow alone, groaning and coughing and sneezing and moaning and shifting.
She unsheathed her little claws and decided to go for the throat after rolling herself in moss. When her scent was washed away, she procceeded to the dying elder.
Violetkit smiled down at her, relishing the thought of the blood soaking into her claws. Warm, soothe, sticky. Berrywillow hadn't yet seen her; she was probably unconsious.
As she comenced, she heard a startled gasp behind her,"Violetkit! What are you doing in here?"
She swivled around to she a fluffy white she-cat of who she did not recognise.
"I...er..."she slid her claws away,"I've never met Berrywillow before and heard from Garlicear that she was ill. I wanted to see her,"
After a fleeting moment, the cat's eyes softened in sympathy,"Aww...poor kit. I'm Sagetuft, Stormwatcher's mate. I trust your mother would've mentioned me?"she purred.
"Of course she did. You're my cousin. Does that make you Ebonyfang's daughter?"
"Yes, I'm Ebonyfang's daughter,"
Berrywillow let out a groan, and Sagetuft looked at her cautiously, "We'd better get out of here,"
In reluctant and unspoken agreement, Violetkit followed the white warrior out of the elder's den, casting a look of bitterness at the thrashing shape of Berrywillow.

"Gah! Why won't you go to bed?" Kinkmouse moaned.
"Because I'm not tired!"
Violetkit was still annoyed about the encounter with Sagetuft, and that she hadn't been able to kill Berrywillow where she'd stood.
"It's two days til your apprentice ceremony. Please get some sleep!"
Ignoring her mother, she continued pacing, excitement replacing her anger.
In two days time, I'll be an apprentice!
Giving up, Kinkmouse let out a sigh. "Well when you want to join me, I'll be in our nest,"she breathed.
Without paying attention to her mother, Violetkit padded further into the clearing where Brightscar was organising a night patrol.
"Rootdust, Flintmouth, Tabbypaw and Thundertail, you're patrolling the RiverClan border, remember. And see what prey you can pick up,"
In the darkness, she made out all four cats nodding, then Rootdust turned and led her patrol out of camp.
Yawning, Brightscar padded to the warrior's den, but Violetkit intercepted her.
"Brightscar,"she whispered,"Is there anything I can do for the Clan?"
"No, Violetkit. You need to stay in camp. Now go to bed; it's nearly moonhigh,"
Annoyed, she walked back to the nursery, but caught Garlicear muttering,"Oh StarClan we need cobwebs,"
Violetkit's tail shot up. Collecting cobwebs was better than nothing! She sped out of camp, pondering where she'd find cobwebs.
The wind flew through her fur, making her tufty fringe flap behind her. As she inhaled the sharp breeze, a sense of undestroyable peace spread through her like blood from a fatal wound. Chest aching, she halted when she reached a clearing with a fallen tree in a dip in the ground where a boulder had once been. Cobwebs! She spotted them. Brushing through some heather, she crouched beside the tree and plucked the webs out. She'd gotten a fair amount when she heard a battle caterwail behind her. She whirled around. A panting Flintmouth was facing her, claws unsheathed.
Violetkit was stunned with confusion until Tabbypaw rested a soothing tail on her mentor's shoulder.
"It's just Violetkit,"she wheezed.
JUST VIOLETKIT?
"Oh. Sorry Vio-wait! Violetkit, you're faster than any of us-"she glanced around to see Rootdust and Thundertail gasping for breath-"So go warn WindClan! Warn them that ShadowClan is coming!"

The word 'Heather' is very important later on. Also...Dun dun duuuuun!
