As the panic traveled through my body, I wondered why I was even alive? With my throat tightening, hands clenched to my side, and eyes wide open, I walked to the front door of his house. Praying he isn't home as my finger pressed the door bell. To late to turn back now, or is it? I slowly start to back away from the door, but as I go to turn around my feet tripped over a crack in sidewalk. I prepared myself for the fall, but instead I found a pair of warm strong arms catching me just in time. The panic attack that I was experincing before subsided and now all I could feel was the warmth radiating off this man. He pulls me back and I regain my balance.
"Better watch where you are going next time," said the strange man with a smirk.
"Thank you for saving me. My name is Kathrine," I replied, extending my hang for a handshake, but this beautifully mysterious man grabbed my hand, placed his other hand behind my neck and pulled me into a kiss. His lips were soft. I tried to pull him off, but I felt lost and safe all at the same time. I wanted all of him. I jumped up and wrapped my legs around his hips, dying for attention I almost beg him to-"Katherine, what happened? Why are you on the ground?" I open my eyes to find Arlie standing above me.
"I must have tripped and hit my head," I say as I go to sit up. There's an instant pain that shoots through my body. Arlie reaches down and picks me up, carrying me to the porch where he sits me on the swing.
"So, you wanna tell me what you are doing here?" he says with that stupid grin of his.
"Oh, yeah. You left some of your stuff at your house. So, I figured I'd drop it off," I replied, refusing to look at him. I was afraid he'd know I was lying, that somehow he'd be able to tell how much I missed him.
"So, where is it?" Arlie asked.
Still focusing on acting normal, I confusingly say "What do you mean?"
"My stuff, where is it?" He says with that stupid smirk.
"Oh, well I, uh, also forgot it at my house," feeling the heat of embarrassment rush to my cheeks. Arlie grabs my chin and forces me to look at him.
"I missed you too," he says right before picking me up and carrying me through his front door, not putting me down until we reach his bed. He lays me down until we reach his bed. He lays me down and walks over to the tv. I can't help smile as he shuffles through the channels. Eventually, he stops the channel on 2 BROKE GIRLS. After puttinf the remtoe down, he runs over to the bed and I let out a squeal as he blops down next to ne. It feels like I never left.
