Taehyung’s POV
I’m used to being liked and wanted, of people dying to keep me with them. So to be pushed away was a novel experience for me that really left me frozen for a couple of minutes. I let out a harsh blow that caused some strands of my bangs to fly a little.
I feel like I was straight out rejected and it’s not sitting well with me. Pushing my thoughts aside, I reminded myself of the purpose as to why I’m here. I need to be levelheaded if I don’t want to end up being buried at such a young age of twenty seven. Quickly, I reached for the bottle of painkillers that was set up on a small table beside the bed. I popped two pills in my mouth and chased it down with warm water.
I’m famished but I really don’t have the liberty to dilly dally as of the moment so after I had set the glass of water down, I immediately went out of the room. Carefully as to not draw attention, I sneaked into the deck and saw Jungkook having a heated conversation over the phone.
I failed to eavesdrop on his phone call because apparently my entire focus was taken by the magnificent view in front of me. Mouth slightly parted, I stared in awe at Jungkook’s powerful build as he stood with authority in the middle of the yacht. His dark hair is being blown by the wind which made it look like he’s shooting a music video that required wind effect. His loose white shirt is also being blown by the wind, giving me glimpses of his toned and perfect abs. My eyes travelled on his veiny arms that seemed so strong, promising security if you’re within his hold. A black Rolex watch adorned his wrist and that one simple accessory added a very great manly effect on this man.
If you add the scenery of the setting sun and the crystal blue waters that’s reflecting the orange color the sky is casting, the view in front of me would pass as some sort of real life painting.
My reverie was cut short when Jungkook’s phone landed harshly on the floor in front of me. I grimaced at what happened before I slowly picked his phone up and after what felt like eternity, I heard certain words escaping my lips.
“Jungkook, you’re an assassin aren’t you?”
I watched his face closely but found nothing. His expression isn’t giving anything away as he just stared right back at me, his eyes like storm holding many undecipherable mysteries.
“Where did you pull that idea from?” Jungkook questioned coldly, hands shoved on his pockets.
“I just need a yes or no answer,” I bravely said.
Jungkook let out a mocking smile. “You think an assassin will just spill their identity just because you asked them to? They don’t even crack under torture and you believed that you can make them admit because of a yes or no question? How adorable.”
His mockery made me feel embarrassed and angry at the same time. I bit my lip harshly before I could spew words I’ll end up regretting.
“Look, it’s no coincidence I’m here with you okay?” I stepped closer towards him. “Of all the boats on the sea, I chose your yacht for a reason.”
Jungkook’s eyebrow shot up in intrigue, compelling me to elaborate what I said.
“The attack on the party wasn’t the first attempt to kill me,” I said in a hushed voice, afraid that someone is lurking in the shadows even when I know there isn’t. “I had been threatened for quite some time now.”
I saw Jungkook’s shoulders stiffen and by the way he’s looking at me seriously, I knew I had his undivided attention.
“You’ve been threatened for quite some time now?” Jungkook repeated in a deep dangerous tone.
