I had originally planned to write about my action plan for launching my new book. Then I realized we need to take a quantum jump on this publishing journey that will assist in the stages of planning a promotional action plan. Even with the best action plan things don't always often work because we have some kinks to work out in our personality that act as sabotages. It is not only true for this journey but for most goals we pursue.

The Myers-Briggs Indicator Types of personality test is a psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. You can read more about the history of the test here-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myers-Briggs_Type_Indicator. Finding out my personality type help me to understand why I write in the genres of visionary fiction, metaphysics, fantasy, spirituality. I took the Myers-Briggs test years ago but decided to do it again. I received the same results. The four letter code-ENFJ. Yes, that's me. I'm an extrovert, with an intuitive, feeling and judging personality. The test results give a detailed explanation of each coded letter. You can take the test at the following website for free: http://www.truity.com/.

As an extrovert, intuitive, feeling and judging personality, I like to take the lead. When I was a young girl during the summer months, I would take all the neighborhood children to the library. I would also hold classroom sessions to discuss the books each one borrowed. ENFJs likes to share their wisdom, teach, and help humanity.

I use the MBIT to help me identify my weaknesses and strengths to reach my chief aim. My strength as an extrovert-a social person-works in my favor in a profession that requires one to promote books in front of large groups of people both online and offline. At book fairs, I would always stand in front of the book table to capture people's attention as they moved around the fair. I always sold out. My weakness is I am too critical of myself and others.

By knowing your personality type, you can also learn how to use your strengths and weaknesses to accomplish your chief aim and devise your action plan in order for your book to land on one of the many bestseller lists.

I would like to hear from you. Let me know if these articles are helping you and how you are doing to accomplish your chief aim.

Five Days of Darkness, the first book in the Rankin Family Series, will be FREE on 9/23 and 9/24. Book 2, Secrets and Serpents, goes live this Tuesday, 9/23.

I appreciate your support. 10% of all book proceeds go to the Hydrocephalus Association in honor of my son, Antoine Aparicio (1984-2001).
