Preface:
Have you ever been so strung up on one person that you don't even realize the one right in front of you? All the signs and aligned stars couldn't direct you to that "one," because of how starstruck you let yourself become. It's like when you have tunnel vision, where you don't realize or care about your surroundings, it's just you and them and that's all that matters.
But then you realize the one you were so head over heals for, wasn't what you really thought. But they never really are, are they? Especially when you're a teenager, like some over played pop song on repeat. 'Cause when you're fifteen, and somebody tells you they love you, you're gonna believe them.
So naive we are when it comes to love. We expect it to be perfect like the books we read and the movies we see; we are fed false hope. Not that I'm a pessimist about love, I've seen my fair share of happily ever afters, it's the fact that we have such high expectations about what we percieve love to be, that sometimes we don't appreciate the love we've been given.
My messy love life started out in eighth grade. There was a boy in the same grade, that every girl had eyes for. He was 'cool,' he was the bad boy that everybody wanted at their side, and I was that cliched shy girl that tried to hide in the shadows. Yes, I know what you're things, BORING! Such a typical story about the girl falling for the guy who's no good for her.. Well you're right. That's exactly what it was.
I was that smart girl in class, that girl who played violin, that girl who knew a lot of people, but had very few friends. Not that I was labeled nerdy or anything, I just wasn't anything special. I wasn't the prettiest or the most popular, I was just plain ol' Marissa. But maybe that was enough.
He noticed me. He told me he wanted to get to know me, and of course I was thrilled. I mean who wouldn't be right? The most sought after guy in middle school asking for my phone number so of course I gave it to him. He texted me straight away with his name and a smiley:
"Hey, it's Sergio :)"
This my sweet lovely audience is only the beginning of my not so ordinary, ordinary series of what can best be described as loves and heartbreaks.
A/N: So I decided to write about something real, something personal. This story is based on my life, based on a true story so to speak, lol. But anyways, I hope you enjoy!
