The Walk Home

"A-Are you still going to t-t-teach me how to play animal crossing?"

"Of course, Tsumiki~San!! I've been waiting all day for this!!" Chiaki said jumping up and down.

Mikan smiled.

"Uh.. Tsumiki~San.. can I tell you something?"

"S-Sure!"

"Well.. I am really glad I live with you. You're so kind.." Chiaki said.

"I'm really excited to teach you how to play animal crossing when we get home. I enjoy our time together."

Mikan was flustered.

"N-N-Nanami~San? Do you really mean th-that?.. P-People usually h-hate being around m-me.."

"Tsumiki~San, of course I mean it." Chiaki said, slightly blushing.

Mikan sniffled, then tears started flowing down her cheeks.

"Ts-Tsumiki~San? What's wrong?" Chiaki said, confused.

"O-Only one p-p-person has ever cared for me a-as much as *sniffle* you.. but th-they are gone n-now.."

Chiaki walked in front of Mikan and placed a hand on her shoulder, while the other hand made its way up to Mikans cheeks to wipe off the tears.

"Wh-What you said means s-s-so m-much to me, a-and I don't k-know how I c-could ever repay y-you for your kindness t-towards me.. *sniffle*"

Chiaki finishes wiping off the tears on Mikans cheeks.

"Tsumiki~San, you don't have to repay me. All I want is to spend time with you!"

Chiaki hugged Mikan. It wasn't a tight hug. It was light so it wouldn't hurt Mikan.

Mikan rubbed her eyes, then returned the hug.

"Th-Thank you, Nanami~Sa—"

Chiaki let go of Mikan.

"You can call me Chiaki if you'd like."

"R-Really? Th-Then you can c-call me Mikan!!"

"Ok then, Mikan. Let's continue our way home." Chiaki said with a smile.

"O-Ok Chiaki!"
