Being Stuck With You

Chapter 1

I was scrolling down my email with a bored expression on my face, when something caught my eye, an email that I have waiting for, for about a month now. I clicked on the email to open, it was from Ivy college, and may I add the college of my dreams, anyways it read:

Dear Josselyn,

Congratulations, we are more than excited to tell you that you have been accepted into our prestigious college. We have looked over your school records and even had a meeting with your school principal who told us that we picked the best candidate. Although you are not the only one. Please call us and let us know if you accept coming and thank you for choosing Ivy College. We appreciate it. Have a nice day.

I couldn't believe what I was reading, no way, I got accepted. I stood up from chair and performed my happy dance. Yay. Wait, I gotta tell mum and grandma. I grabbed my phone from the bedside drawer and dashed out of my room like flash, ha I wish, I ran the stairs hoping that either of them will be around and it was confirmed when i heard a chair move.

"Woah woah woah, do you wanna break the stairs" My grandma said. Arriving at the end of the stairs I ran towards her, enveloping her in a big hug, and almost making her lose her balance and fall,oops.

"I'm very sure I've being at home for a long time" She says while hugging me back. I pulled away from hug and began to squeal.

"What is it, oh wait a guy asked you out" She said and began to squeal as well. I stopped, shaking my head and laughing. She stopped as well and gave me a skeptical look.

"What?" I asked, then laughed. "Well no, sorry to disappoint, but I have even bigger news" I said with a huge smile plastered to my face.

"What could be bigger news than a guy asking you out"

"Grandma" I screamed

"Just messing with you"she smiled. "So what's the big news"

"I will tell you but where is mum"

"Over here" a distant voice shouted from the backyard. I walked and dragged my grandma towards the direction of my mom's voice. She was working on her rose ,and other flowers which I don't know the name of,garden.

"Hey honey, any problem?"she asked

"Nope but I come with great news" I replied

"Okay then tell me, It must be big news seeing the way your smiling" she said and I giggled.

"Yes it is but first sit down" I said pointing at the chairs behind them.

"Can you tell us already, I'm tired of waiting" my grandma groans.

"Okay, mum a drumroll"my mum began tapping her hands on her laps really fast. "I got accepted "I said doing jazz hands. They both stood up from their chairs and ran towards me enveloping me in a tight hug that I could hardly breath in.

"Guys,I think am dieing" I said in a low and choking voice. They pulled away, thankfully, I literally thought I will die.

"Sorry" they said in unison. "Then what are we doing here let's celebrate, I know just the place" my mom said and I nodded.

"And you can't leave this house looking like that" my grandma said. I looked down at what I was wearing and giggled. She was right I couldn't leave the house wearing a loose tank top and short shorts.

"Sure I'll change, thanks for the reminder" I said with a laugh and left the backyard. I felt like I was forgetting something. Then it clicked I hadn't called my besties. I pulled out my phone from my pocket about to call them by group call when the door bell rang.

"I'll get it" I shouted. I pulled the door open to see the face of one of my best friends, Diane, who attacked me with a hug, wow I've gotten a lot of hugs today, I returned the gesture back. When we pulled away from each other I decided to tell her the good news.

"I have good news" we said in unison. I laughed.

"You do?" We said in unison. She laughed

"You go first" we said in unison again. We both laughed

"No you" I said. She nodded

"I got in" she announced.

"OMG,  I'm so happy for you" I said with a smile and hugged her.

"Okay, your turn"

"Me too"

"No freaking way" she hugged even tighter, right I forgot she's a hugger, well the hugs are comforting.

"Who's at the door honey?" my mom asked.

"It's me Mrs Chambers" Diane said with a giggle. My mom appeared behind me.

"Oh hey sweetie,how are you?" My mom asked.

"Good, you?"

"More than happy knowing now that my daughter just got accepted" she squealed.

"Mom, Diane got accepted too"

"Really?"Diane nodded. My  mom pushed me aside, literally, to hug Diane.

"Excuse me?" I said waving my hands in the air so they could at least acknowledge my presence. They both turned to me and laughed. I guess after the accident that Diane's mum had, that has left her in a coma for a year now, my mum has been taken that responsibility of acting like a mum to Diane.

"What's going on here?" A voice chirped from behind me. I turned to see my grandma with a frown on her face.

"Aren't we going to celebrate anymore?" My grandma asked

"Oh my, I almost forgot, Diane is your dad aware of your acceptance" my mom asked.

"Nah, he left for work really early today, all he did was leave a note on the fridge but I did send him a text, but I doubt he has seen it".

"Well then, your coming with us" my grandma said. She nodded in agreement.

"Then let's get going"my grandma insisted pushing us out of the door. I willingly let her push me out of the door and then it clicked I was still in a tank top and shorts.

"Wait" I shouted "I haven't changed" I said with a light giggle seeing my grandma shaking her head in disappointment.

"Okay honey we will wait in the car" my mom said, leaving. I ran up the stairs and changed into a plain white top and ripped blue jeans. I ran back down closing the door and dashing into my mom's car.

We arrived at a fast food joint and ordered all the junk food this world could ever hear of, just kidding. My mom ordered a huge box of pepperoni and cheese pizza with juices and burgers and might I add, it was delicious. Diane and I attempted calling Dennis, our other best friend, to join us but sadly he didn't pick up. Too bad I'm so gonna rub it in his face.
