T W O | What you don't know can kill you

The car pulled into the only open parking space. The man turned off the engine and turned to his daughter. "Do not even think about making a scene here." He reached into the back seat and pulled out a pea coat and a pair of long jeans. He handed them to his daughter. "It will be cold." He gruffly said and got out of the car.

Trixy threw the items into her satchel and got out of the car. Her father grabbed a hold of her hand and dragged her threw the masses of people like a father would do to a mere child. Trixy was tired of fighting and just wanted to be done with all of this so she complied for the moment.

Her father walked her all the way to her gate and watched her walk onto the plane. Trixy felt her cheeks heat in embarrassment as two cute boys walked by and chuckled at her expense. She turned to wave at her father but he didn't return it.

Trixy found her seat and stuffed her satchel under the seat in front of her. She pulled out her IPod and put in her buds, ready to immerse herself in music.

A shadow passed over Trixy and a clammy hand rested on her shoulder. She scowled at the intruder and opened her eyes to find a huge man towering over her. She felt tiny next to him.

"erm... that's my seat." he said pointing at the one directly next to her.

Trixy was immediately intimidated by this man. He looked like he could eat her as an appetizer. The man must have been six feet tall and 300 lbs.

Trixy stumbled out of her seat and moved out of the way. "Sorry." She mumbled. This was defiantly not starting out the supposed best summer vacation ever. When she sat back down she remembered her phone and checked for any new messages to pass the time.

Trixy found three and not one was from Heath. Her stomach clenched at the absence of a text from him. There were two from Summer and one from a boy from her class. She opened the one from Summer first.

-there's a party at deilas' house. 7. You in?-

Trixy looked at the time. It was already 9:00pm. Even if she wanted to Trixy wouldn't be able to go... because her parents were stubborn. She sighed and moved to the next text from Summer.

-the party is really bumping! Where are you?-

On a plane to hell, she thought. Her phone beeped with a new message from summer in that moment. She opened it and gasped.

-I am soooooo sorry about what happened to Heath. Look, when you feel like calling and telling me about it I will be here to pick up. Any time. It could even be three in the morning. I know you're probably at the hospital right now but when you get a chance please call. I need to know your okay.-

Trixy sat frozen in her seat as she stared at the message. What? Was all her mind was able to form. "What!" she shouted as the flight attendants made their rounds, checking all the passengers.

"ma'am, you need to put that away." a lady wearing too much makeup sweetly sneered at her. Trixy turned horrified eyes on the attendant.

Trixy tried to ignore her and focused on texting Summer back.

The lady snapped Trixy's phone closed for her with a pink manicured nail and said "you can't text while we are taking off."

Trixy flipped the phone back open, not listening to the attendant.

The attendant plucked Trixy's phone from her hands and pocketed her phone. "Now, you cannot use your phone on the plane. I'm sure that everyone here would like to live." The lady said it loud enough for everyone around her to hear.
