Introduction

I was driving home from work when I got a text from my boyfriend. 'Hey baby, working late tonight again I promise date night tomorrow. Love you' I texted back 'Love you too'. That is the third time in a row he was working late. He must be busy, I mean he just has a desk job. I got home and got changed. I made some coffee and started making dinner. I was making dinner and watching the news, another murder. This is the third one this week and it's only wednesday. I finished making dinner and my boyfriend walked in the door. "Hey baby." He said while walking towards me. "Hey babe." I said back. "There was another murder, I think it's related to the other two that happened this week." I said as I was getting the plates ready. "I hope they put you on the case, you are an amazing detective." He replied. "Aww baby" I said while handing him the food. We sat on the couch and turned on criminal minds. When we were finished eating I turned on the xbox and we played call of duty. "Oh, oh, oh.. damn it!" He said "Haha!" I always beat his ass in call of duty. "How are you so good?" He asked. "I played a lot when I babysat my brothers for my mom." "Ah I see, they are pros at the game." He said laughing. "One more game then I'm going to bed. I have to go an extra hour early for a meeting." I said. We played one last round and I won. I got up and started walking to the bedroom while Jackson turned off the xbox. "Hey missy, wait for me." He said running up behind me. He picked me up and carried me to our room. When he got into the room he threw me onto the bed. We both laughed. I got under the covers and he came and cuddled me. I smiled and closed my eyes. "Baby, do you think we could start trying to have kids?" He asked. Having kids is a thing we talked about before. We have been together for 6 years now. I turned over and faced him. "I mean, if you want too and think we are ready. I am ready." I said. He smiled "I am ready." "Alright. I have the weekend off we can start then" I said. "Okay. I love you." "I love you too." He kissed my head and I buried my face in his chest. We both fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning and got dressed. I grabbed my badge and keys and left. I got into the car and I checked my phone. Jackson taped a note on the back on my phone. 'Have a good day at work baby.❤️' Aww he is just the sweetest. I started my car and drove to work. When I got to work I saw my boss get out of his car. "Good Morning Miss. Jones" "Good Morning Captain." We went inside and I went to my meeting. After my meeting I went to the morning briefing. "Alright. Diaz, Any updates with the Mafia murders from last week?" "We have a lead, we are going to check it today." "Okay. As you know there have been 3 murders this week." "Captain, I think they are linked. If you close to the neck there is a letter carved into each victim's neck." "How did you know?" "I looked through my case file before the briefing and noticed all three had a letter on the neck. Plus they all died but through a slit." "Alright. Jones got on it." "I will."
