Chapter#2
*Dahlia's P.O.V.*
A little kid came up to me and pulled on to my uniform's skirt. It was almost my time to go home and take some rest. I was really tired and that little boy's annoying voice was the last thing I wanted to hear right now.
I glared down at him "what?" I snapped at that child.
I think I scared that child because at first he flinched looking at me horrified and then started crying so annoyingly loud that I had to cover my ears.
I sighed and kept all the dirty dishes on an empty table beside me and I knelt down to his level.
"What do you want kid?" I asked looking at him as softly as possible. Let me make this clear, I HATE crying kids. I'll do anything just to shut them up. I once tried yelling on a kid to make him stop crying but it only got worse..and that day I learned my lesson.
"I can't find my brother" he said between hiccups.
"Well, what does your brother look like?"
I face palmed myself when he said "Ummm..he has two eyes like me and one ear here" he pointed to his nose.
Oh boy.
"I mean what is he wearing?"
He thought for a minute and said "blue"
"Blue? Is he a smurf or something?" I smirked but of course that kid didn't understand what I meant because that kid was giving me a confused look.
"Nothing. Just walk with me"

"Are you sure he's wearing blue? Because I can hardly see anyone wearing blue today." I asked the kid. It was way past my full break for today. I had taken the child to the receptionist to make an announcement and find someone who can help. However, the receptionist made an announcement but asked me to stay with the child as everyone else was busy. I was annoyed, tired and grumpy. Just by the look on my face, the other staff knew well to stay away from me. Grumpy Dahlia is not very healthy.
Soon the place was getting less and less crowded. It was dark outside and I checked the time, which said it was almost midnight. I had given up, I wanted to abandon the kid and just go home. My bed was missing me.
I turned to the manager, who was standing by my side and making a call, and hissed at him "when can I go home?" Frankly speaking, I didn't care about the child. I tried many times to slip away but he would start screaming if I left . Because of it, my manager asked me to stay a bit longer.
"I am arranging someone who can take over, but everyone is on duty" Garrett said.
I huffed and sat on a chair beside the receptionist. I don't remember when I had fallen asleep but I was suddenly woken up by a scream.
"Essa!" The kid screamed and ran towards a guy. I groaned and sat straight on the chair rubbing my eyes. I looked around me and noticed the chair beside me, where the receptionist had been sitting, was empty.
"Thank you so much for what you did and I am very sorry to cause you trouble" the guy, Essa, walked up to the reception table and spoke to me. He was looking down while speaking but glanced at me for my response. However, I didn't say anything to him. I just glared at him and walked away. Though the receptionist had arrived by then and attended him.
"Garrett, I am leaving" I said to the manager while taking my phone and shoving it in my pocket. I threw my black leather jacket on my shoulder and walked towards my car. I knew all the eyes were on me but I didn't pay any attention to them as I was used to it.
