Daniel's POV

It was a cold winter's evening the snow falling on the window and the icicles hanging from the roof. I let out a sigh laying on my bed not giving a care in the world about what's happening. I was just in my own little world...Thinking...Thinking about this "Mystical Place" that my parents have called Hogwarts a school for young witches and wizards to go to.  Me being a pureblood. Hogwarts is a place where I belong but, I'm still waiting for my Hogwarts letter to arrive. I let another sigh

An hour later

A tiny tap on my window? I wonder...I got off my bed and went over to the window. To my surprise a brown and black owl and its eyes a really bright yellow like a sunflower. I gently opened my window trying not to scare the owl away. It got frightened a little. In his beak, it carried an olden style envelope looking like it aged over time with a red wax ceil stamped on the opening.  I gently took the envelope out from the bird's beak. He flew away. I shrugged closing the window and made my way downstairs to where my parents were sitting on the couch cuddled up near the fire.

"Mum, Dad" I went over to them and handed them the letter. Their eyes lit up with joy and excitement

Dad took the letter from my hand and opened it. Taking the paper out and he read

"Dear Daniel Daganheart, We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts Witchcraft and Wizardry. Attached to the letter is a list of necessary books and equipment. Term begins September 1st. We wait for your Owl no later than July 31st. Sincerely Minerva McGonagall!"

My parents pulled me in for a tight hug "My son going to Hogwarts!!" My mum cried holding me tightly. I could barely breathe

"M-Mum.." I tried to say. She soon let me go. I panted heavily trying to get air back into my system

Dad was already writing a letter back "Alister Daganheart will gladly attend Hogwarts Professor. Signed Mr. and Mrs. Daganheart" My dad said with a pleasuring smile as he wrote that on a small piece of paper. He saw got off the couch making his way up to the attic. I could hear the creak of the attic door opening.

Dad took an old sheet off a golden cage containing the family Owl Ohmar. He opened the cage letting Ohmar out passing the letter to him. "Give this to McGonagall little buddy," Dad said and Ohmar flew through the Attic window flying to Hogwarts

While back downstairs mum and were reading over the things I need. Reading the list I felt nervous. I took a deep breath the air entering my lungs and soon leaving as a cold wisp of air. It was really overwhelming but, I didn't want that to affect this moment. I can see how happy my mum is so I didn't want to ruin that with her dealing with my stupid thought and emotions. So I kept them in

Dad soon came back down "Alright the school now knows that you'll be attending. I'm so round of you my son" Dad said smiling and pulled me in for another hug

I hugged back. My dad was proud of me. I gave a faint smile soon pulling away from the hug. I soon broke the awkward silence "Um the things I need" I said

"Oh, Danny don't worry about that. You have a while until school starts. We can get your supplies in a few months. It is only January here" Mum said

She was right it is January here in London and it is early. I sighed in relief. "And Mum I'm not five," I said. Danny was my nickname when I was younger. It's not the greatest Nickname of all time but, there is a reason for it...But, that's a story for another day.

I checked the time. 11 pm. it was getting late.

"Well it's getting late I should probably head to bed now" I yawned a little covering my mouth

"Alright Kid," Dad said giving me a slight kiss on the fore head soon pulling away and turned off the fire

Mum soon hugged me "You made us proud son" she smiled

I hugged her back. I could feel tears welling up inside me. I chose to ignore them and wiped my tears away with my hoodie sleeve. I soon pulled away pulling my hood over my eyes

"Well, Goodnight" I bolted up the stairs making a loud thud. Making it to my bedroom I soon closed the door. I soon sat on my bed looking out the window "You made them proud.." The last words of the night. I laid my head down on my pillow and soon closed my eyes.

I can't wait for September to begin
