** Welcome to the first chapter of this story, maybe I won't abandon this one like I have all the others**
Raileigh's POV -
Today is the day. Today is the day that I walk across the stage and graduate high school! I can't believe that after today I will no longer be required to wake up at six in the morning! Thank god! I turn onto my side and reach over to my night stand and pick up my phone checking the time. It is currently 9:45 in the morning, knowing that I take forever to get ready I might as well start getting ready now.
I get out of bed and walk into my closet and pull out my dress and heels along with my cap and gown putting those on my bed before also grabbing a pair of matching undergarments along with leggings and a button up shirt, since I'll be wearing that until it's time to get ready.
I walk into my bathroom and turn on my shower after grabbing two towels and my grey silk robe. I do what I need to go in the shower then get out and dry my hair decently before wrapping it in the towel and using the other to dry off my body before putting on my robe and walking out to my bedroom and get dressed, leaving my hair in the towel.
I walk out my room and into the kitchen greeting my mom, "Good morning mom," she looks up from the stove slightly startled, "Good morning Rai, what have I told you about sneaking up on me like that?" I giggle softly and roll my eyes, "But mom I didn't even try that time, it's not my fault you scare easily!" I respond sassily. She rolls her eyes and hands my a plate of food, once I eat and wash my dirty dishes I go outside and lay on my hammock and look up at the sky, admiring the view, the clear blue sky, the puffy white clouds, hopefully it'll stay this nice.
I must have lost track of time because my mom opens the back door and calls me inside, I have thirty minutes to get ready, I run into my room and sit at my little makeup desk and since it's not a extravagant event I decided to keep my makeup natural and only do foundation, mascara, lip gloss and highlighter once I'm done with that I let my hair down out the towel and decide to let it air dry so it'll be in pretty waves. I quickly get dressed in my white dress and heels before grabbing my cap and gown and rushing out my room and out the door, meeting my mom in the car we leave and head to my soon to be old school.
Soon we arrive to the school and go inside I go sit with my classmates and end up zoning out until they get to the t's, my principal calls out, "Raileigh Jaide Thompson" I get up from my seat and walk across the stage and up to him, he hands me my diploma and we shake hands and take a picture then I go sit in my seat again and the rest of the names are called. Once he's finished calling out all of our names he announces, "It is my honor to present class of 2020!" We throw our caps in the air then we take more pictures then disperse into the crowd to find our families.
Once I manage to find my mom, she's in tears, she hugs me as tight as she can and whispers in my ear, "I am beyond proud of you Rai, I knew you could do it!" Just hearing my mom praise me brings tears to my eyes, all I've ever wanted to do was make my mom proud. I hug her tighter and thank her. Once we let go of each other we walk to the car and head home so I can change.
