Everyone who met Demi Lovato-Jonas and got a glimpse into her so called glamorous life could all collectively agree that she was living every girl's dream. She lived in a beautiful estate in New York that wasn't too far from the city but still gated off for the much needed privacy. Nicholas Jonas, her husband of six years, was a successful CEO of a big time company that did business with everyone. She had the most adorable daughter in the entire world who was seen as a perfect angel. Her face, along with her husband's, constantly graced the society pages for the galas and the charity events that she hosted along with him. Everything for her was just so picture perfect. It was like she was living the life of a princess, the type of life that should be documented and placed in magazines to make every woman and even every man in the country swoon with jealousy because why was it fair that everything for her was just so perfect? Well everything wasn't as it seemed.
"Good morning, thank you for calling Jonas Incorporated, how may I assist you today?" The name of her husband's secretary was Mary, and she only knew this because she had to constantly call up there to see where he was because he rarely answered his phone, even if he had two of them. It didn't matter which one she called. It would be a miracle if he picked up either one because as he loved to explain, he was a busy man and he was sure that whatever she needed could wait.
"Hi Mary, this is Demi and I was just calling to see if I could talk to my husband," Demi replied, chewing on the skin around her thumb. She made a mental reminder that she needed to get a manicure because Nick hated when her nails weren't done. The truth was that she just grew tired of them and sometimes she didn't want fake nails and perfect manicures.
"You actually just missed him. He stepped out for a meeting and he's not scheduled to come back in until after lunch. Would you like to leave a message for him?" Demi combed her fingers through her pitch black hair that tumbled down her back in soft waves as she shook her head, momentarily forgetting that Mary couldn't see her.
"No, that's fine. I'll just see him when he gets home," even if she would probably be asleep by then. Mary saw her husband more than she did and if they didn't have a five year old daughter who was constantly questioning where her father was and why he was never around then she wouldn't have a problem with that.
"Okay, have a good day Mrs. Jonas," Demi nearly groaned at the name but Mary hung up before she could. She turned around to face her five year old who was playing with her iPad in her California king sized bed.
"He's in a meeting. I'm sorry he didn't say bye before he left sweetheart. Maybe we could surprise him for lunch," Demi apologized, climbing back into her soft bed and laying next to her daughter who set her iPad aside and poked out her pink bottom lip.
"It's okay...daddy's busy," Aria responded, crawling into her mother's arms and allowing her to push her wild mocha colored curls away from her forehead.
"But never too busy for you. He was probably just rushing. We'll go see Aunt Jenny and then surprise him, yeah?" Demi suggested as Aria nodded and closed her eyes, allowing her mother's soft humming to send her back to sleep.
"I just think it's a little ridiculous that our divorce papers are barely finalized yet you're going all the way to New York for your high school sweetheart," Wilmer Valderrama rolled his eyes and silently reminded himself that this is why he had finally divorced his wife of three years. He thought they would last a while but too many things about her bothered him and if he was being honest with himself, like he had been trying to do lately, Eiza was nothing more than a rebound for him that he ended up marrying. He was still very much in love with his high school sweetheart that had gotten away.
"There's nothing here for me anymore. I already called Joe and I'm staying with him and his family until I can get my own place down there. And I'm not just going down there for her. One of my studios is down there and I can work from there. I just want to see her again. I want to see what happened to her and how she is and if she still loves me as much as I still love her," Wilmer zipped his last suitcase and checked his bag to make sure he had his ticket and everything as Eiza sat down on the bed that they once shared and folded her arms over her chest.
