CHAPTER ELEVEN : PART TWO
WHERE THE KISS BREAKS

SILAS WAS GETTING ANNOYED.

It was that simple.

Jane had locked herself in her room, refusing to come out and it was irritating him to no the end. Cecilia had called earlier asking how it was going, and she got a frustrated growl in return. Of course, Tiana found this more than hilarious and opted at laughing at him.

Needless to say, he was not in a peachy mood. The girl was stubborn, he would give her that - but so was he.

While he decided to give her space, he was bored out of mind and he wondered what in the hell she was doing in that damn room.

Probably pouting. He thought with a roll of his eyes. The male grumbled under his breath, a scowl on his face as he made his way to her room.

"That arrogant, egotistical - no good-" Silas rolled his eyes once again as he heard his mate call him every name in the book before he opened the door - watching as she brushed out her hair in front of the vanity.

The glare she sent him was deadly when she turned to face him, brush clutched tightly in her hand. "What do you want?"

"A decent conversation with you be nice." He taunted with a tilt of his head. "You know one where you aren't acting like a spoiled brat."

"I am not a brat." Jane hissed, chunking the brush at him only for the male to catch it will a raised brow.

"Sure you aren't." Silas then shook his head. "You know it would help if you would just talk to me." He was only met with a scowl and for the hundredth time that day, he rolled his crimson eyes.

The male walked towards her and motioned her to turn around, and after a hiss from the blonde, she obliged. What Jane did not expect was for Silas to continue to brush her golden locks.

He handled her hair with a gentle touch as he ran the brush through it, a small furrow in his brows as he did.

"Wha- Where did you learn to do this?" She questioned, eyes closing as his finger gently massaged her scalp as he continued to work on her blonde curls.

"I'm a big brother, you have to know these things," Silas answered with a shrug as he placed the brush down. His hands returned though, seeming to weave her hair into a beautiful braid. "Cecilia loves it when I do this. So who is older, you or Alec?"

Jane looked hesitant to answer and bit her lip. "I am."

Silas chuckled with a grin. "So you're an older sibling too?"

"Mhmm." Then there was a sigh. "Silas?"

"Yes, Jane?" He asked, eyes still focused on the braid.

"Why did you bring me here?"

The male froze, hands going still before he shook his head. While he braided, Jane waited for him to answer - she longed for him to answer, but she was only met with silence.

When he finished the braid, Silas put his hands on the back of her chair, a thoughtful on his face. For the first time since she had been there, Jane finally realized how handsome her mate was.

His hair was a fawn brown, and easy atop his head. Silas was tall, towering over her by a foot and while he was slim, she could see the defined muscles beneath his black t-shirt. His eyes truly mesmerized her, instead of ruby or Burgundy - they were a bright crimson, reminding her of the purest of blood.

She also seemed to realize how hard he was trying. He never forced himself onto her, never mad ever feel threatened. Yes, he had threatened to punish her, but it didn't scare her - because for some ungodly reason she knew he would never physically harm her.

Silas was perfect for her in every single way, but she was scared. She didn't have any experience in relationships, seeing as how she was hated as a human. And not only that, but she was sure after Silas found out about her past - he wouldn't want to be with her.

And that scared her more than anything.

"Forget that question." She shook her head, before turning to face him. "Why do you want me to be your mate?"

Silas looked shocked at the question, and his lips parted for a second, on but then he laughed. He laughed so hard, that he had to hold his sides because they were hurting and all the while Jane frowned at him.

"What-what kinda question is tha-that?" He wheezed before he frowned seeing the vulnerability in his mate's eye.

"You are literally perfect and yet you want me?" Jane stood up, pushing the chair over as she began to pace the room. "Me! A witch twin!" She then whirled around to face him. "Do you not know how I became a vampire?  Who I am in the vampire world? What my reputation is? You have to be truly insane to ever want-"

Her eyes widened when Silas pulled her into his chest - his lips covering her within a second. She remembered all the times Chelsea would gush about how her kisses with Afton would feel like a million fireworks were going off.

Kissing Silas was nothing like that.

No, it was like a single burning candle. Standing so beautifully tall as a small flame would dance around the wick - shining so bright in a dark room. It was passionate, it was slow, and just like a candle, it was hot.

Oh, she had never felt an emotion such as this before. A fire burned within the pit of her stomach, unlike anything she had ever experienced. But it didn't burn, no it felt so good.

It felt euphoric.

When he pulled away, she whimpered slightly at the loss - earning a warm smile from her mate as he ran a finger over her bottom lip.

"Jane, let me explain something to you." He whispered softly. "Compared to me, you are as pure as the freshly fallen rain. I have killed far more than you have. I have tortured, destroyed, and have haunted many people in my time on this earth. And yes Jane I do know how you turned, and I do know about your reputation." Silas then smirked. "And that's just what it is, a reputation. It does not define who you are. Because whether I'm right or not, I know that is not the real you. The real you is a passionate, amazing woman who longs to be more than a weapon. Who hates being controlled and confined to one place. Who loves her brother and Coven with all her being, regardless if she admits it or not."

She was speechless as he spoke and right then a there she finally came to terms with something she tried to deny for so long.

Silas Combre was her forever.

And she was never happier to admit it.
