The Royal and the Peasant Knight(On Hold)

Chapter 1

A/N: Before I start the story I just wanted to say that the cover was made by eternaldxrkjosie.

*Josie's pov*

The night grew darker and darker as I ran deeper and deeper into the forest. Glancing back the three men were still chasing me. My terror grew tenfold as I tripped over a tree root. With a throbbing ankle and a pounding heart my palms grew sweaty. Paralyzed in fear I couldn't get up. I thought those men were going to get me but when I turned around and I saw a girl in a red hood. She said to the men, “Now is that anyway to treat a lady.” 

As the tallest guy tried throwing a punch at her, I got worried because the guy was twice her size but she somehow dodged the punch and flipped the guy. The other 2 then attacked her but before I knew what happened they both were on the floor. When she saw the guys were all passed out she came to me, she kneeled down to get to eye level with me. “Are you okay?” She asked me sincerely.  I then replied, “I’m okay but I think I twisted my ankle.” She looked at the trees then whistled and out of nowhere a horse came out. The horse was a black mare. She asked, “Is it alright if you ride on my horse and come to my camp so I can treat your leg?” I nodded my head and somehow she was able to get me on her horse.

Hope’s POV

After I rescued the girl from those men I was curious as to why they were chasing her but I didn’t bring it up. As I was walking alongside my horse I noticed the girl getting drowsy. “If you want you could go to sleep, Midnight is very gentle.” The girl nodded and laid her head on Midnight’s mane. I smiled at this because she seemed like a sweet person.

(20 minutes of walking)

Once we got to my campsite I made Midnight lay down so I could carry the girl to one of the sleeping bags. After I laid her down I looked at her foot and she was right, she twisted it but it wasn’t too bad she would be able to heal in a day or so. I walked over to the ice cold lake that wasn’t too far from my camp. I then filled a bucket with that water and carried it back to my camp. Once I got there I grabbed a cloth and submerged it with the water. I then placed the cloth on the girl’s ankle in hopes of soothing it. It was really late so I laid my head on Midnight and went to sleep.

*In the morning*

I was the first one up so I went out into the woods (comment if you know or have watched that movie)  and got some apples and berries. I knew the berries I picked weren't poison because my dad taught  me the differences. I also boiled some water to use to freshen up. After I freshened up and washed the apples and berries I saw the girl wake up so I said, "Good morning, how is your ankle?" She just gave me a thumbs up before she freshened up. I then said, "Here some apples and berries if you're hungry." She then said, "Thank you." I just gave her a small smile before grabbing an apple and giving it to Midnight. 

I then ate an apple and a couple berries myself. I then said, "So what's your name?" "My name is," she hesitated then said, "Jo." I then said, "My name's Hope and well you already know my horse's name is Midnight." (Comment if u get my name is Hope and...) "Anyways if you like I can get you home." "That would be nice, thank you," Jo said. I sat on Midnight, then Jo sat behind me. "So, where shall I take you?" I ask. 

*Josie's pov*

I hesitated for a bit then said, "Can you take me to the castle?" She looked at me a bit worried and confused then she nodded and we started heading towards the castle. 

*Near the castle*

We were near the castle bridge but instead of crossing it the girl stopped, Hope said, "This is as far as I go, I hope to see you again sometime." I smiled and as she rode off I said, I really hope I see you again.” 

Sorry it was so short but the next chapter will be longer.
