Chapter 9

Freya's POV

People continued to walk pass me as I sat against the wall outside Bella's hospital room.

I has spent the last ten minutes arguing with a nurse who won't let me in the room with bella, something about tests, I wasn't really listening.

The phone call with Charlie did not go well. He was too busy panicking about Bella to let me explain that she was alright, for the most part.

I was shook out of my thoughts by the door at the end of the hall slamming open. Charlie was charging down the hall with a look I never seen on his face before.

Panic.

"What happened?" He asked.

I stood up to meet him.

"There was black ice everywhere. A van skidded across the parking lot and right towards Bella."

"Well how is she now?"

"I don't know, they won't let me see her."

"Is she is that room?"  Charlie nodded his head towards the door we were standing outside of.

I nodded " yeah but they won't let  us in."

Charlie ignored my last comment and opened the door, heading inside. I quickly followed after, eager to see Bella.

Bella sat on a gurney with a nurse I front of her carry out another test.

"Bells. Are you alright?" Charlie asked panic still evident in his voice.

"I'm fine, dad. Calm down."

Tyler Crowley still had blood running down his forehead as he attempted to apologise. "I'm so sorry, Bella. I tried to stop."

"It's okay, Tyler." Bella as always, accepting. Charlie on the other hand had a different response. "It sure as hell is not okay."

"Dad, it's not his fault-" Bella was the always the peacemaker in the family. Hating when others would argue.

I decided to cut in to their conversation. "Sissy, we nearly lost you. You could have been really hurt or worse."

  "But I wasn't" Bella stated. I gave up trying to argue with her, knowing how stubborn she could be.

Charlie turned to Tyler "You can kiss your license goodbye."

I smirked slightly. Before I could make a remark towards Tyler and his driving skills. The door to the room opened again.

"I heard the chief's daughter was here."

I looked toward the door. The doctor approaching was tall, blonde and his stunning gold eyes. Wow.

"Good. Dr. Cullen." Charlie announced.

Of course he's a Cullen. I should have known.

Doctor Cullen had taken over from the nurse and was speaking to us about Bella's results. Thankfully she was good to go home. I let out a small sigh.

I could hear Tyler once again trying to apologise for what happened.  But before he could finish his sentence,  Charlie had grabbed the curtain and pulled it across separating him from us. I let out a laugh, not used to this side of Charlie.

Bella had unexpectedly gained some confidence and spoke to doctor Cullen. "It would have been a lot worse if Edward hadn't knocked me out of the way." I gave Bella a weird look, confused about her statement.

"Edward? Your boy?" Charlie questioned Doctor Cullen.

Doctor Cullen nodded before quickly looking back at the chart. Bella's continued in talking about the accident.

"It was amazing he got to me so fast. He was nowhere near me." What is up with her. Never in my life have I heard her talk about boys, but now all of  a sudden...

Doctor Cullen smiled at Bella and before excusing himself politely.

Bella jumped down from the gurney and grabbed her stuff as we headed out of the room.

"I just have to sign some paperwork. You better call your mom."

"You told her?! She's probably freaking." Bella pulled her phone out her pocket and began to dial moms number. She walked towards the hall when she paused.

I looked around the corner to see what she was staring at. A confused look crossed my face. Edward, Doctor Cullen and Edward's sister were standing the the middle of the hall way having an intense conversation about something.

Edward's sister was clearly angry about something. I tried to listen to what she was saying but was too far away to hear clearly.

Doctor Cullen spotted Bella and myself looking toward them. He suddenly spoke to his children "Let's take this in my office."

Edward'a sister and Doctor Cullen both left leaving Edward to turn toward Bella.

"Can I talk to you for a sec?" Bella asked him.

I leaned in towards Bella and whispering in her ear "I'm gonna go find dad."

I walked down the hall, leaving them alone to talk.
