I see the tears on Johns face start to fall.

"It's going to be okay." I say comforting my little brother.

"No it's not." He says. "Father might die and how are we meant to get to the Dragon Temple?"

I didn't think about that. Walking would take far too long and we could get eaten by a wild animal. I thought long and hard then it hit me.

"We will ride to Dragon Temple." I say.

"With our horses?" Asks John, I nod. "Its the only way."

John and I make ourselve breakfast from the leftover oats and milk from yesterday. While I clean up John gets our sacks all ready. "We need to be prepared." I say. "For the worst."

I walk over to John and grab a knife from our fathers weapon room used for killing animals. I grab another knife and a spear. "That should be enough." I say.

John finishes packing whilst I pack food and water for a couple of days. John and I have never been on a long trip by ourselfs. We usually went with father, but that was not going to happen.

"I think we are done." Says John checking the two sacks. "Lets go." I say.

We climb down our safe home in the tree with our sacks on our backs. Our two horses Terea and Beenf are tied to the tree with their hay pile and water hole. I go over to my horse Terea and pat her on her snout. I got her when I was about Johns age, I am now 15 so she is still very young.

Terea is my best friend after John and we share a very strong connection between us. Terea is black with a white dash over one of her eyes. Her eyes are blue with a hint of green and really bring out her fit, muscler body.

Johns horse Bennf is brown with paches all over him, like a cow. Bennf is old and was once my fathers horse. We tie the sacks around our horses and jump onto the home made saddles. I quickly look behind me at my home in the trees that is very hard to spot because of all the thick, green forsetry. I hope I will be back here again, this could be the last time I will ever see it........

"Come on." Says John infront of me. I kick the side of Terea and we ride off before the sun comes up.
