This is basically how much of chapter 4 that I've written so far. And yes, it is unfinished. Please read the author's note at the end; it's very important!

Vinaya's pov

"I don't like her," I finally burst out.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Gemma asks, looking confused. We're both just lounging around in the living room, eating leftover pizza from the night before. The others have gone out to do various things such as buy groceries or attend a birthday party, and we're the only ones left at home.

"Her. Your new friend."

"Cass?"

"Yeah."

"What?" Now Gemma looks possibly even more startled than she did before. "What do you mean?"

"I'm sorry, Gemma. It's just...something about her seems off. I mean, usually I'm not really that good at judging people's characters but this time it just feels wrong..." I sigh, not knowing how to explain my feelings to Gemma without offending her.

"Oh." She looks thoughtful. "Maybe you're just jealous?"

"Huh?"

"Don't worry, V! I'll never replace you with Cass!" Gemma exclaims, coming over and hugging me tight.

"I...uh...alright," I manage. Yeah, that's it...maybe I'm just jealous? It's not often I actually make a genuine friend, so I don't want to lose Gemma. The odd feeling slides away, and I breathe a sigh of relief. Maybe just the fact that Gemma said Cass was an Ophiuchus was putting me on edge. But still, that's silly; there's only one Ophiuchus, and it's Ophelia.

"Hey by the way," I ask Gemma, "did you or any of the others see Ophelia again after that day with Santiago? As far as I know, she completely disappeared..."

"I did, actually," Gemma grimaces. "She dumped mulch on me in the courtyard." I gasp, anger flaring up inside of me.

"WHAT?! How dare she?! I am so gonna destroy her when I see that witch!" Gemma looks surprised.

"Woah woah, calm down, girl. It was annoying, but I dealt with her already. You don't have to worry yourself," she smiles.

"Oh, alright," I say, trying to sound calm but still simmering from inside. Seriously, who even does such petty things? This is just grade six all over again.

"Anyways, I wanted to tell you something," Gemma begins, her face sparkling.

"What is it?" I ask her.

"Cass, she, well...she said she'll help us!" It takes me a moment to realize what Gemma is saying. She told Cass our weird phenomenon...and Cass offered to help?

"That's...great, I guess, but...you told her?" My voice rises sharply at the end, and I wince internally. Keeping my temper at bay is much harder than I thought. "You told her, even though we all agreed this would be a secret? Even though you also said that we'd be better off without other people sticking their noses into our business? You told all of this stuff to a girl you barely know?" I exhale, massaging my temples, and Gemma looks taken aback.

"I...I'm sorry, hon. She's just...she's trustworthy, I swear!"

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hi readers! I know I've been a lot slower with this story than I expected, and I'm sorry about that.

The problem is, I had major writer's block - but even when I got my creativity back, I realized that writing this story was a burden to me and I didn't want to do it anymore.

I couldn't figure out what the problem was...until yesterday, when I looked back at some of my old stories. What I realized was that I was no longer writing this story for fun, just because I wanted to.

Rather than writing with my usual light style and enjoying it, I was trying to have an over elaborate story with plot gaps and too many characters to develop.

So, I am once again going to rewrite the old chapters to make it better. I'm sorry about doing this so many times, but I really want to continue this story instead of just giving up, so I'm trying again that way.

The main characters will still be Gemma, Leonardo, Vinaya, and Qadir, but I'm also tweaking one thing there - I'll only have two point of views rather than four. Four perspectives to one thing is also a whole lot harder than I originally thought, which is why I'm doing this.

Once again, I am NOT giving up on this story - I'm simply REWRITING it.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you understand!
