1: the one where she's mind controlled (and why you shouldn't be hard-to get)
There was this cute transferee.
Not that Lucas liked her or anything, but every glance directed at her would always be a long one.
Luckily, he wasn't alone in this... accumulation of feelings. Most of the boys in his class, depraved and horny, also felt this way towards the cute transferee. So it wasn't really that creepy when he would look at (the wall behind) her and drool a bit.
But what he was alone in, is the fact that he was the attractive, confident go-getter type. So after a week of extreme ogling, he finally gathers up the courage to ask her out on a date.
Her name was Tzuyu. She was seventeen. She was Taiwanese.
"Tzuyu?" Lucas scratches the back of his head. Right at the moment, Tzuyu was preoccupied on keeping her books in the locker. It was better that way because they wouldn't have to look at each other in the eye, "Is that your name?"
Go get it, Lucas. He's so hard-to-get.
"Yes, Lucas." she turns her head at him, "That's my name, what seems to be the problem?"
Lucas sucks in a deep breath and plasters on a grin he hopes didn't look dumb, "Would you like to go out on a date?"
There wasn't much of a pause. There weren't any heartbeats or pulse rates to look out for like he expected there'd be- there wasn't even an inch of suspense. In a second, in the most unenthusiastic way possible, she answers a monotone, "Okay. Where?"
Now, Lucas would be excited, if only her monotone wasn't so infectious. Maybe he's trying to seem cool, maybe he's caught on her flat personality, maybe he's just naturally offhanded, because he says, "The Milk Tea Shop after school. It's the only yellow building across. Go there whenever you like," he rolls his eyes, "Whatever."
"Okay. Thanks."
Then Tzuyu closes the locker door and nods, going her opposite way. Lucas watches her back descend into the hallway, hiding the smile forcing its way in the corners of his lips and swallowing the heart that attempted to claw its way out of his throat.
He walks to his direction, biting his already grinning lips. Oh god, he was so cool.
-
Class ends at four o clock and Lucas finally peels his eyes off (the wall behind) her and bids the teacher goodbye. A zoo rumbles in his stomach: a zoo that seemed to be operated and owned by Tzuyu, a zoo that would be operated by Tzuyu if only Lucas wasn't so cool and uninterested in her.
Lucas wants to ask Tzuyu if she would like to walk to the milk tea shop together, but he bites his tongue, he didn't want to seem too desperate. So when the teacher leaves and the class follows in cheers and gossip, Lucas stays in his chair, grabs a book from his bag, and hides his face in a random page.
Every once in a while, he would peek at the students exiting. After thirty minutes, when the cleaners leave and he was sure he was alone, he finally stands up.
A small hand stops him, and when he looks back, he's met with Tzuyu's big eyes.
"T-Tzuyu." he stammers. He's a virgin, hand-to-shoulder contact was basically illegal. Was his anxiety obvious?
"Yes, that's my name," she answers in her poker face, "Lucas, stay alone with me for a while please."
Sweat builds up in his palms and make their way to trickle from his forehead to his nose, the zoo in his stomach transforms into a knot and the giddiness in his pounding heart turns to confusion, "Why?" he whimpers like a kicked puppy. He would've wanted his deep voice back, but his vocal chords were not very cooperative.
