In a gloomy, barricaded second-floor apartment lives the legendary gamer Jim 'Undead Hunter' Zamora. He was known to be the best at zombie games and even ranked among the world's best. In the online community forum of a famous open-world zombie survival game, he was famous for his knife, gun and survival skills and was often asked to share information regarding trades and strategies for saving ammunition during a horde raid. In real life, though, nobody knows that he is your typical high schooler, living alone in a second-floor apartment with only his grandfather in the province sending him money. Life was good before the spread of the Z virus, which spread the fastest in his school, where he was at the height of the infection. He had to sacrifice a few friends in order to survive. He ran away with two of his closest friends and barricaded his apartment where they now live.
One of his friends is Charles Lee, who used to be his next door neighbor before the virus wiped out his entire family and was forced to move in next door. He is his most trusted companion in online games and was very thin and frail in real life, but very agile. He is your typical bespectacled computer genius and is very good at helping out with plans and strategies, often serving as lookout for whenever Jim or Edison went out for rations. Though weak with most weapons, he is good at long-range with snipers and throwing knives.
The other friend is Edison Cho, a buff soccer player at their school. He doesn't get along that well with Charles whom he often teases and disagrees with. He is this team's 'brawn' in contrast to Charles' 'brains', and is very happy to be able to club zombies down with his trusty crowbar, one he picked up at school. He is usually the one to gather rations at the nearby ration storehouse operated by a member of the ZSRT, and he switches with Jim sometimes.
Together these three friends decided to live in the barricaded apartment for the rest of their lives, that is, until the infection is over and all the zombies are eliminated, though they are quite happy to be able to live through what was thought to only be a game. Will this peaceful life continue?
