It was Mark's first day in Seoul, South Korea. After countless auditions, he finally got the opportunity of a lifetime to become a trainee at SM Entertainment, one of the top three entertainment companies in the country. It was a very big change for him since not only did he speak any Korean due to the fact that he was from Canada, but he left his family to live with the only aunt he had in Korea. Nonetheless, he was willing to adapt so that he could become an idol. He knew it was going to be hard but he was willing to go through the highs and lows to get his dream career.
Once he landed in Korea, he was nervous yet excited. His eyes wandered, fully amazed at everything that he was seeing. Overwhelmed by the number of activities occurring around him, he jumped as he felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Excuse me." The voice of a woman caused Mark to turn around. The lady looked in her late twenties, hair— which complimented her soft round face— falling a little over shoulder length, her almond shaped eyes that glistened as she gave a polite look to the young male. One could say her height varied anywhere between 5'7 to 5'9, although her high black heels— which matched her long black slacks with her baby blue blouse— clearly participated in it.
Slightly intimidated, Mark glanced up at the tall woman in front of him.
"Yes?" He managed to reply after a while.
"Are you the new trainee from canada?" She asked in a calm voice.
"Yes?" Mark said, still in his puzzled state.
"Yes? Orrr no?" She mockingly interrogated, presenting a smile at the end. In anticipation, Mark returned the smile and added a chuckle, scratching his nape. It was fair to say, the younger was quite nervous with this encounter.
"Yes. May I ask who you are?" Mark question with a raised brow.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm your manager, Lee Ara and I'm here to take you to SM Headquarters." She said with a sweet smile on her face.
When Mark heard that, he had begun to relax and not be so tense. He now knew he was in safe hands.
"Oh sorry, it's just so new for me to be here so i'm kinda nervous"
"Well, I can assure you there's nothing to worry about. We have some foreign trainees here, so I think you'll fit in just fine." The manager reassured him.
"I guess you're right. Thank you." Mark kindly bowed and the woman replied with a gentle smile.
"Now, let's go meet the other trainees. I'm sure you guys will get along just fine!" She stated full of ecstasy.
During the ride, Mark's manager informed there would be a lot of trainees under this company and unfortunately, not all of them would make it. This made Mark a little paranoid which resulted in him overthinking that maybe he wouldn't become an idol. But he knew he had to try.
After the long hour ride, they finally arrived at SM Headquarters. When they got out of the van, Mark stood frozen at the tall, blue colored, mainly glass constructed building. He watched as people walked in and out of the glass doors, some in a hurry, others not so much.
He was amazed at the building, it was beautiful...
It was everything that he had imagined it to be and he was so ready to begin his process as a trainee.
"Okay here we go!" Mark said walking into the building.
