There they go again. The "popular girls." Trying to bug me into extinction. My name is Codie. Yeah it sounds like a boy's name but I'm actually just your average 17 year old girl.
Only, I'm not so average. I have a secret.
I'm an Animagus.
That means I can transform into an animal. It is extremely rare to be born with this power. I just happened to be one of them.
These days scientists have found a way to turn people into Animai even if they weren't born that way. Its rediculous. My dad says that only the ones born with the power recieve all of the strength and senses of the animal they choose.
The thing about being born an Animagus is that you can only change into one animal.
When an Animagus turns 12, they get to choose the animal they want to be. But they have to choose wisely because the animal they choose as a 12 year old is the one they will be for the rest of their life. The animal they choose can then appear beside them when the human isnt in animal form. The animal can lend the human strength, or senses.
For example, a dog could lend the human its sense of smell.
I chose a grey wolf. One appeared by my side last year when Chelsea-one of the popular girls- had her boyfriend scuff me up a bit. The wolf lent me his strength so i could fight back and then he helped scare those jerks away. He's been my companion ever since. I named him Frostbite, because his eyes are a dazzling light blue, which reminds me of frost, and his bite hurts. A lot.
Anyways, those popular girls are always teasing me and giving me crap but I try to ignore them. They don't own me and even if they tried to, I wouldn't let them.
I'm not a "girly girl". Not even a tiny bit. I would rather wear pokemon shirts, long shorts, and play basketball all day every day, where pretty much every other girl wants to go hang out at the mall, go shopping, wear skirts, and make up, and do their hair to impress the boys. Gross. If I had to sum up my personality in less than 10 words I would say: Bisexual brony/otaku tomboy.
And that's all I've ever been. My best friend Paisley is the only one that knows my secret. And that's because she is an Animagus as well. But she had animal blood injected into her, which is how the scientists turn normal humans into Animai.
Right now I'm walking home with Paisley.
"I'm so exited!! We haven't had a sleepover in forever!!" she shouted.
"I know! I'm just glad I wont have to sleep alone..." I admitted, feeling a little ashamed of myself. Ever since my ex girlfriend Avada broke up with me, I've had trouble sleeping alone. She would stay at my house and we would just lay in my bed watching movies until we fell asleep, and I would always have my arm around her.
Now I cant sleep unless someone is with me...
"Hey, I know what your thinking. So stop thinking about her. This is our night ok? No thinking about heartbreaks. Got it?" Paisley demanded.
"Yeah I know. Sorry, I cant help it."
We arrived at my house 5 minutes later, put our stuff in my room, and sprinted to the kitchen for some donuts.
Me and Paisley spent the rest of the day watching movies, playing on our phones, and debating on whether or not her monkey could beat up my wolf. I highly doubted it could, but even so, I found myself in the backyard as a wolf, with Paisley as a chocolate brown monkey standing in front of me.
"I'm telling you Paisley, back down before you get hurt!"
"Nice try Codie but I'm never gonna back down!!"
And with that we started wrestling and I gently scratched and bit her, trying not to hurt her too bad. Meanwhile, she threw punches and kicks at my lean muscular figure.
After a few minutes of this, my big brother Caleb came outside and joined the fight as well. We're both grey wolves, but he's a little bit bigger and stronger than i am.
With two wolves against a monkey, the fight was over pretty quick and we all went back inside. It was getting pretty dark anyways.
Oh! I forgot to tell you that my family is what you would call "pure bloods." In other words, my entire family is made up of generations of Animai. That is even more rare than being born as an Animagus.
We're the only pure blood Animagus family in Michigan. Me and Caleb are wolves, our dad is a grizzly bear, and our mom is a falcon.
That pretty much says everything about my so-called "normal" life,and what I do on the weekends.
I fight monkeys on the weekends. See why Paisley is my only friend??
