Chapter One

"Are you okay sweetheart?" He asked worriedly. I was in a daze a daze filled with beautiful icy blue eyes, broad masculine shoulders, and full lips.. I didn't even realize him picking me up and moving me to the couch on the farthest wall away from his desk until I heard him clear his throat.

"Ummhpp!" he asked again. "Oh, um yes sir I'm your new secretary." I proclaimed "Ahh I've been expecting you however there's been a change in positions you are now my PA and will be working very closely with me for the duration of your time here." He informed me. "What!? Why!?" I yelled a little to loud. I couldn't help, but notice sadness sweep across his face.. "Well because I'm the boss, and you'll do as I say."

I knew I shouldn't fight with him over this seeing as this was my first day but I really wanted to know why? I thought to myself. Maybe I'll ask him at a later date .yes that's what I'll do. "Yes, sir" I stated. "Good now if I'll have no more disturbances you may go set your desk up after that I'll be emailing you your todo list for the day" "Yes, Mr Mitchell's" I said before leaving the office and sitting my things on the desk right outside his office.

It took me all of thirty minutes to set up my desk and log into the system under my name. And there it was the email.. I quickly opened it..

Dear Ms.Franks

Ive read into your resume and I see you have outstanding work history at such a young age bravo. So you will not have a problem with this list of things you will need done before 8pm. Report back to me when your finished.

I reread the email and downloaded the attachment there were over thirty things on this list I was not getting out of this office by eight!

Dee Pov

As soon as I saw her walk or fall into my office I knew I had to have her closer. She had the most beautiful long blond wavy hair, a soft heart shaped face, and nice full curves she was every mans dream and my weakness. Her very smell had me weak at the knees she smelled of lilac and warm vanilla.

By the end of the night I don't know if id be able to stay away from her. I thought to myself. And yes I knew I shouldnt have given her so much work on her first day but I need to keep her busy before I do something drastic. A light knock on the door pulled me out of my thoughts.

Maya Pov

As I went through the list and checked off some of the things I finished easily I noticed next it said file all documents. I look around and couldn't find a file cabinet anywhere, and before I knew it I was knocking on Mr.Mitchell's door.

"Come in!" I heard him yell. "Sorry to bother you Mr.Mitchell's, but I couldn't find the file cabinet could you point me in the right direction" I asked "In the right corner" he huffed out. "Thanks" I smiled. I wonder whats wrong with him, I thought to myself he probably is still mad about me falling in his office earlier, I wondered. I was in such a deep thought while filing the files I didn't notice Mr.Mitchell's watching my every move.

Dee Pov
I couldn't help but stare at her as she strolled around my office concentrating on one thing. Oh how I wish that one thing was me, her full curves sashayed around as if she'd been working here forever I loved the confidence she had radiating off of her she had a presence that men killed to be in...
If only she knew how much I wanted to fuck every thought of another guy she may of had away she'd be frightened. As quickly as that thought came it went away. Sweet girls don't fall for fuck ups.

Maya Pov

As I was filing away I kept feeling something someone staring at me I knew it was Mr Mitchell's I just couldn't bring myself to turn around and fall victim to those icy blue orbs. What is wrong with me I can't be thinking of the boss like that I'm here for one thing and one thing only to work and if he thought otherwise I'd be fired and I couldn't afford to lose this job.

Flashback (Maya)
"You have a week to get out this house for gods sake maya your 23 don't you think it's time to leave the cradle!"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing my own mother was kicking me out the one who birth me her of all people should have known how hard it is to get a good paying job especially here in Cali.
"But mom where am I suppose to go you know I have nothing!?" I started crying.
"Is that my problem? My only job was to make sure you were fed and clothed now that your grown and able to do for yourself it's time for you to go!" She yelled
"I knew you were cold hearted Susan, but I never thought you could be this way with me. I mean what have I done for you to treat me this way? Her own flesh and blood. But you know what it doesn't even matter because you said what you wanted to say!" I yelled as I grabbed as much of my stuff as I could and ran out the door.
End of Flashback

Maya Pov
For the rest of the day I danced around piercing blue eyes watching me following as if he was waiting for something in particular. If he thought I was going to mess up then he could stop watching don't get me wrong this list he gave me was tedious at times, but nothing I couldn't accomplish.
Before I knew it it was 8 pm and time to go I hadn't even put a dent in the list I was given, but I was hopeful that Mr. Mitchell's would let me finish tomorrow.. So I packed up my belongings and was just about to shut down my computer when I heard the door open and in walk Mr Mitchell's himself.
"Where do you think your going Ms Banks?" He asked not so nicely.
"h-h-home? It's 8pm." I stuttered. Where did all this stuttering come from I thought to myself I should not be shaken by this man he is my bo...
"Maya!" He yelled. "Yes?"
"If your done day dreaming I'd like you to stay until 9 I really need the things on the list completed tomorrow is a big day for you and I; I will not be in the office to help you with anything im going to London on a business  trip for the rest of the week this one I will not need your attendance, however every other afterwards I will so plan accordingly tomorrow there will be a stand in to guide you through anything if you should need help, but don't be fooled I will know everything that goes on in this office when I leave. Do you understand?" He explained  Before I could even answer he walked away.
"Yes sir" I yelled after him. I was shocked I couldn't believe I was going to be able to go with him on his business trips and visit places I've only dreamed about.
I sat back down still on a high from the news I just received I just couldn't believe the opportunities I was already receiving as his PA.
The rest of the night was spent buried in work I didn't see Mr Mitchell's until it was time to go for real this time.
As I walked to the elevators where he was standing waiting for them to open I couldn't help but notice the erie silence I knew we were the last ones in the office it was late almost a quarter past nine. "You did a good job today Maya" he said nicely as we stepped onto the elevator. "Thank you Mr Mitchell's it's my job."
"Call me Dee, Maya."
" I couldn't Mr Mitchell's your my boss I don't wanna cross any boundaries"
"I insist Maya I... "
The elevators opened and I hurried out. Before I knew it I was walking down Lincoln street I almost regretted working late I knew the buses weren't going to be running this late and the little cheap apartments I stayed at weren't in the best conditions or on the best side of town. What was I thinking I should have put my foot down and demanded to go home. I laughed out loud what am I talking about it was my first day I had to make a good impression I can't demand to do anything.
I noticed dark burgundy almost black bmw pull up slowly beside the curb.
I clutched my purse to me preparing to run if I had to good thing I wore flats. Just as I was about to take off I heard Mr Mitchell's voice..
" Maya get in the car I'm taking you home."
