"Hey..Hey" I heard a faint voice calling me as I began to open my eyes. I peered at the girl, who rubbed her eyes gently and smiled at me. I sat up gently, watching the cable car slowly pull into a weird looking island. It shook violently for a second before stopping. I could see a huge red bridge in the distance and I smiled widely. I shortly got off of the cable car, and helped the girl out as well. My feet touched the grass and it felt so good. My eyes squinted gently, the sun peering out. I looked around, and saw a city in the distance and a road nearby. I nodded at the girl and we started walking. I stopped at the road, and waved my hands gently so that someone might pick us up.
ZOOM! A bright blue car sped past us, not even giving us a side eye. I sat down on the grass, getting impatient.
•Hours Later•
I sighed gently, and laid my head on the girls shoulder. A car came up to us.
"You girls need a ride?" The woman asked. She had blonde hair and glossy flat pink lips. Her eyes glistened even though it was quite late in the night. She had one arm outside her SUV window. I smiled gently and nodded. Her pale skin was smooth and soft and I climbed into the passenger seat, but didn't let myself get comfortable. I watched the girl climb into the back seat.
"So what's your names?" The woman asked. She wore a bright yellow tight shirt and black overalls over that. I looked around the car and then outside at the sky. Sky.. Sky.. will be my name...
"Sky. Sky" I say cautiously. Liking the ring it had to it.
"Beautiful name. What about you?" The kind lady asked the girl behind us.
"Um.. Julia!" She says quickly. I smile gently. The name was perfect for her. I sighed gently, relaxing a bit.
"Well, where are you guys heading?" The woman asked softly.
"Uh.. we really don't know. We just need a home." I say.
"Oh my goodness. You're orphan's!" The woman hit the break. She looked at me, and hugged me gently, then reached behind the seat to hug Julia. I nodded, and rubbed my shoulders.
"Are you going to.. adopt us?" I ask, and the lady just stares at me. I could feel all her kindness melt.
"I'll drop you off at the local orphanage.. and see what I can do" She says coldly, starting to drive again. We stopped at a small two story building that looked very scary. I got out with Julia and stepped inside. I was very scared and gripped Julia's hand.
"Welcome to the Orphanage." A strict, cruel voice echoed through the dark building.
