This is a rant about Jason and Percy. I just feel like people give Jason a ton of crap because Percy's better. I don't think so. I get it, Percy is better but Jason does NOT deserve that crap.
Everybody hates Jason because we know Percy better and I hate those "memes" where people are like
"Omg! I was about to close 'The Lost Hero' until I saw Percy's name!" Like come on! I get it! It's someone new, but did you really think Uncle Rick was going to JUST write about Percy? When I opened 'The Lost Hero' I read the first sentence and was instantly captivated because it was a good book! I didn't know it was gonna have ANYTHING related from PJO except for the author! So when I saw Annabeth I got excited. And some people say that Jason and Piper were rushed, they're one of my OTPs. I get it, it kind of was rushed but I fell in love with them and then it was like, 'Oh! Percy's here too!'
I really wish people would stop hating Jason just because he's not Percy.
I mean I get it, Percy had his own series so we know him better. But Percy had his own series! Sure, Jason wasn't offered immortality but that doesn't make him worse! Sure, Percy seems like he did more but WE DON'T KNOW THAT. And, Jason trained longer than Percy. Jason is 15 in 'The Lost Hero' and he has 12 lines on his arm, that means that Jason got to Camp Half Blood when he was 12, and I believe in 'The Mark of Athena' he says he is 17 or is going to be 17. Percy only trained for 5 years.
Okay, I'm almost done. Lastly, Jason is more down to earth. Percy doesn't really have any problems. He's going to school with his girlfriend, he's gonna live in New Rome being a hero, living a mostly normal life. Jason, on the other hand, has MANY problems. (1) Greek or Roman? (2) getting stabbed (3) Glasses! I think Jason is the only demigod with glasses (correct me if I'm wrong) (4) He DIES!
Sorry if this is cringy and it makes you mad. I just really needed to get this off my chest even though not many people will see this.
