Chapter 1

*Ashley's POV*
Life was good here in Massachusetts. I had everything that I wanted. I had a wealthy family, nice parents, I guess I could say I'm pretty, and I lived in a beautiful home. I really like school here. It was perfect. I had all my friends, including my best friend, Madison.

One boring Monday, I was coming home from school. I walked in my house to see my mother with a worried look on her face. "Ashley dear, come over here." She said. My mother is brunette and has long straight hair. She has big hazel eyes and a pretty face. My dad always says I'm the mini version of her. "Yes?" I replied, confused. "Your father's work is getting transferred again, all the way in Virginia." She said. I was beyond myself at that point.

I ran upstairs, slammed my door, and broke down crying. I couldn't believe I was going to lose all of this. I belonged here. I don't want to move again. "Ashley, sweetie, we are leaving tomorrow. Get packing." My mom yelled from downstairs. Great. I have to pack.

I took one last look at my room. It was definitely something I was going to miss. All of the memories here. I started to take all of the pictures off the wall. All the ones of me and Madison. It hurt inside. What was I going to tell her?

I was packing all night until I heard my phone vibrating. I looked at it. It was Jason. My boyfriend. I declined it. I'm so done with him. He ruins everything. I really need to break up with him. He honestly abuses me at times. At least that's what Madison tells me. It's just that if I say anything rude, I know I'll get a beaten.

I just kept on packing and ignored all of his calls and texts. I finally finished. My room looked so bare. I finally remembered. I had to call Madison and break the news.

I picked up my iPhone and clicked on Madison's contact. Her picture was us on the beach over the summer. Oh gosh, I might cry again. The phone rung, and on the third ring she picked it up. "Hey Ash, what's up!" She said happily. Madison was always in a good mood. "Hey...Uh I have some bad news..." I said. "Why, what's wrong?" She said confused. "I have to move again.." I said with tears in my eyes"
