"I like me better when I'm with you"
I am obsessed with Lauv's 'I like me better' lately. I can't get enough of it and what I love the most is that it gives me a good vibe and a happy feeling which is sometimes pretty hard for me to get.
Anyways, getting to where I am right now. So I am at this park I always see on my way home from work, the one I always write here about, and I can finally say 'I am doing it!'. After so much time I have a free day in the middle of the week. Like WHAAAATS?? I know, I'm shocked too.
I can't believe what a good day it is today. The weather is perfect, I woke up with energy, ate my favorite meal, I am headache-free and I don't have to interact with people. I just get to be me in an environment in which I've always pictured myself being in. This park is just as I imagined it to be. The trees here are so diverse and tall I feel like they are trying to tell me a story accompanied by the birds that sing their beautiful songs... I wish I could somehow save this moment and relive it whenever I feel like it. But we haven't reached that technology level yet.
"Crap!"
As beautiful as the day was for Maria and as happy as she was for her free time, all that good energy could go to waste if she doesn't get to her small NYC apartment quickly and finish her Children Psychology essay which is due tonight. It was already late seeing as it was 8 o'clock pm and she still had to write three whole pages in it. Things flew everywhere in her purse but with a little rustle everything fell into a somewhat place and she was getting up to make a run for her home. What she, however, didn't have the dexterity of doing was to close the purse, which was in total chaos, and look behind her before getting up so sharply from the little table and bench she was sitting at. That concluded in an ugly collision with a boy, that made her precios headache-free day into a headache-with-a-huge-bump-on-her-forehead day.
"What the hell man??"
"Oh God...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you."
As she was getting up and tendering her increasing pain in her right temple and eye, she was trying to find the words to excuse herself without sounding too dumb. But hearing the angry dude that she bumped into, made her stomach churn with displeasure at thinking of a disaster situation.
'Ah, yes. The non people interacting day we said, haven't we?...'
"Man, Who the hell do you think you're bumping into?!"
The screeching voice and assessment of her situation did not make things easier, but worsened them. Turns out she bumped into a really scary looking young man, maybe in his mid twenties, along with a few of his fellas beside him. All, but one, looking rather angrily at her. The other one was taking her in, but looked really impassive at the action going on around him.
"I'm sorry. I hope you didn't injure yourself. I am rather in a rush so if you'll excuse me". She made a small apologetic bow and impatiently started to run for her exist after she excused herself once more. She didn't have the time, nor the patience to deal with an angry guy with his crew right now. But as things are never easy for her, she didn't even get to pass the guy before he literally grabbed her arm and pushed her in front of him in a very brusque manner.
"Not so quick lady. You did, in fact, injure Me. Does your poor ass even know who I am?"
"Sir. I am deeply sorry if I hurt you. It was not my intention at all. But that does not give you the right to touch me and as I said I don't have time for this. I would be very appreciative if you would just let me go about my day" Maria was not only startled that that man touched her, but she was also getting angry about his really mean attitude. This was an accident. She certainly did not plan for this. As long as she was concerned she hated people and tried to stay away from them as much as possible. That's why she didn't even tell her two best friends about her free day. She wanted to enjoy it in her own company. But this situation was getting out of control and beside the rude dude that annoyed her, there was the one that was intently watching her on which face you could see he was grossed out about his pal's behaviour and would quite mind his business elsewhere.
