Coming to an End

Korey's POV

"I come alive somehow!" I sing into my microphone, as I'm jamming out, playing my guitar. I go back into what the fans seem to call my "signature Korey strut" and headbang in sync with John and Seth. As we play the final chords of Rebirthing, I dismiss a sigh of relief from my lungs. The crowd cheers and I wave my hands high in the air as I walk off stage and hand my guitar to a crew member, who puts it back in its case. Finally, our European tour is over and we get to rest for a couple months!

"Great show!" John says, laughing as he walks over, wraps his large muscular arms around me and gives me a kiss on the cheek.

"John!" I exclaim jokingly, poking his chest with my finger, pulling away from his hug with a smile. "You know how I feel about sweaty hugs after shows!"

"Whatever, Kor," he says sneering at me, hardly keeping a straight face. He then chuckles and says, "I'm gonna go shower, I'll see you in the van!"

"Alright, babe!" I say. Suddenly I hear giggling and little arms grabbing my legs.

"Mom, mom..Jen let us come say goodbye to you..oh, and Uncle Scotty let us watch the show from backstage!" Xavier says to me.

"Yeah, mom!" Alex says, looking up at me with her pretty blue eyes.

"Scotty!" I yell across to the wings opposite me. "Why are you letting my kids stay out so late on a weeknight?"

"Kor, lighten up a little!" Scotty yells back to me, as he wraps cords. "It's the last night of tour, and I figured they would want to say goodbye to you and John before you ship them off to 'Camp Jen'" for two weeks."

"Ahh, you're right," I chuckle. It was John's idea for us to leave the kids here in Europe with Jen for a couple weeks so we could have some alone time at home. Just the two of us! I love that man--he's such a romantic...

I watch as the kids run over to help Scotty with coiling cords. They learned the skill a few years ago, when they began staying backstage with him during weekend shows. I see Jen walking over to me with a smile on her face.

"So, you and John this week, eh?" she asks, putting a devious little smirk on her face.

"Maybe..." I say, blushing a bit and giggling as soon as she finishes her words. "But hey, I think this break it's about time for YOU to find a guy, am I right?"

"Eh, the guys in Coventry are pretty lame if you ask me." She says, shrugging her shoulders and smiling wide. "Plus, you're making it a little hard since you're SHOVING YOUR KIDS ONTO ME"

"You know it was John's idea, Jenny. Haha, well, everything they need should be with your stuff, if I'm correct. And remember, just text me if anything goes wrong! John and I will be back in two weeks to pick the kids up...I trust you more than anyone Jen, you know that..but please, please keep my babies safe and sound!" I plead.

"You know I will Kor! Stay safe in your travels home, lovebirds!" she says, and I realize John is right behind me as he scoops me up into his arms and into a big hug.

"All clean now Kor!" he chuckles.

"Alright, guys, great tour! Come, on Alex and Xav, say bye to your parents before we leave!" Jen calls to the kids, and they come running over to John and I one last big hug.

"Mom, please stay safe!" Alex says. "I love you so so much, and I never want to lose you!"

"I know honey, and I love you too! Now run and go catch up with Jen before she leaves without you!" I say, as she runs back over to the exit door where Jen and Xav are standing. The three of them wave a final goodbye, and then head out to the cab which is waiting to take the three and their belongings back to Jen's house.

Seth, pulling his rolling suitcase along on the ground with Hilary by his side, comes over to say goodbye to John and I. He congratulates us on a great tour, and then he and Hilary leave to hail a cab to take them to their hotel in Paris where they will be staying for the next week and a half.

As all of the trucks and vans pull away, I see a cab which John must have called earlier pulling up to where the two of us are standing.

"Well now it's just you and me, baby," John says with a chuckle as he pulls me into his embrace.

As I look up into his hazel eyes, I can already tell this is going to be a great break.
