Chapter 2

When I woke up the next morning I was alone but there was a note by my head. It read,"We are sorry we couldn't be there when you woke up but we had to finish what we started. We will be back by tonight don't open the door for anyone we have a key. There is food in the mini-fridge for you. We didn't know what you liked so we got you a hamburger and a salad and an iced coffee. Have a good day see you tonight." -James and RickAt least they left food and coffee my favorite kind to. I walk to the bathroom and hop in the shower. After my shower, I eat the food they left and drank the coffee. I stand up and throw everything away and lay back down on the bed. "Well, I ain't got anything better to do I might as well take a nap." I fall asleep for a few hours when I woke up it was dark out. I didn't notice them sitting on the couch "I wonder when they will be back. It's already dark outside." I frown and turn on the light finally seeing them. "Oh hey, your back..." They laugh at me "Ya we told you that we would be back tonight." I fake a smile still a little scared of them "When are we leaving to this uncle of yours?" They smile "Tomorrow. So you're going to have to wake up early tomorrow." I get on the bed "Ok" I lay back down, closing my eyes and throws an arm over them so the light doesn't bother me "Night you two" "Night Rose." I fake falling asleep so that when they fall asleep I can run. I ain't going to let them take me back I know this 'uncle' is just the orphanage. They don't like me and I don't think they ever will. A few long-ass hours later they are fast asleep. I've laid here for about an extra hour to make sure they are fast asleep. I grab the backpack I pack 30 minutes after they fell asleep so I didn't have to now. I get up and sneak out and I run as fast as I can to get as far as I can from them. I'm in the nest town over when the sun comes up "Fuck I need to find a place to hide." I don't hear the car that's behind me pull over "What is a pretty girl like you doing out here by yourself?" I turn around and lie "I'm walking home from staying at a friend's house." I see the impala "I-I gotta get home, sir." I run as fast as I can and get into a cafe before they can see me I hope. "Hi Ma'am would you like a table." I turn away from the window and blush, "Ya sorry 'bout that ma'am I was making sure a creep didn't follow me." She smiles "We get a lot of people who say a guy pulled over while they were walking and tried to get them in his truck." I smile "Ya I ran into him. Now could you lead me to a table, please? "Yes, ma'am follow me." She walks to a table in the back "Here you go ma'am I'll be right with you." "Take your time I'm not in a rush" She walks away and fills up a few cups of coffee before taking an order and walking back to me "Sorry 'bout the wait. Now, what would you like?" She asks as she pulls out a notebook, "Just an ice coffee would be nice please" she smiles "I'll be right back with that" "Ok ma'am." James and Rick walk-in and hide my face as she walks over with my ice-coffee "Are you ok ma'am?" I look up at her "Oh ya just seen the creep" I mumble as she sets the coffee on the table "Ok call me if you need anything. "I will," I say as I smile still watching the boys. Please don't see me. They walk up to the woman that brought me my drink. I down my coffee and put some money on the table to pay for the drink. I walk out with my head hanging low. I have to walk right by the guys to get out. I make it out safely and I start walking to another town. They follow me I didn't notice though. I get to the next town over when they grabbed me, "Why did you run?" James asked sounding hurt. I frown and look at the ground. He sighs "Just get in the car Rose we will talk about this later." I get in and drop the backpack, I open it and pulls out a laptop and plug some headphones in. I turn on some music and watch the world going by. We pull into someone's yard. They get out and wait for me, I turn off my music and get out. James grabs my shoulder so that I can't run I sigh and let him lead me to the door. Rick knocks and steps back to stand by me. A guy walks out and points a gun at me. The boys tense and watch me see what I would do. I smirk and step up so the gun is right on my forehead "Pull the trigger I bet you won't do it." He drops the gun and looks at me and then looks at the boys "Did she really just walk up to a gun and tell me to shoot." The gun was pointed at the ground now as the boys answer him "I think so Bobby" I smirk again and grab the gun, they all look at me in shock. I dive out of the way when he tries to grab it. "You ain't getting this back" I run into the woods as they all chase me. "Rose give that back now you're going to hurt yourself." I get farther into the woods. After getting a good distance away from them I get into a good shooting spot. I pull the trigger and hit my target dead on. Rick gets to me before James or Bobby. He stops and watches me pull the trigger again. "Fuck ya bull's eye." James gets behind me and rips the gun out of my hands. I frown and turn around dropping my head. I start back to the house not talking to anyone. When I get back to the house I sit down on the steps waiting to be invited in the house. They get back about 15 minutes later. He opens the door and James makes me stand up and go in they lead me to a couch and push me on the couch. "Why the fuck would you take the gun. Are you a fucking idiot you could have hurt yourself." I stay quite. This goes on for about an hour. "Don't even get me started on walking right up to the fucking gun do you wanna get shot?" I whisper "ya I do." James hears me and stops talking Rick and Bobby look at him. "Are you done yelling yet?" Rick asks him. James turns around and looks at him "No now we gotta talk about suicide and how it's bad. I asked her if she wanted to get sho.." I jump on him and cover his mouth. "Yes, he is done yelling." All of them look at me in shock. "James gets me back on the couch. "Why don't you tell them what you said." "I don't know what you're talking about James." he growls "Tell them" he is starting to scare me. I push myself against the couch and turn away with my eyes closed trying not to cry. "Y-you're scaring me J-james!" they all freeze as a tear falls from my closed eyes. One of them tries to touch me and I start crying a good amount. "I-I'm sorry Rose I didn't mean to scare you." James rushes out, he tries to touch me so I shove myself farther into the couch. I try to calm down but I won't be able to with him in the room. My breath starts to quicken and I start to have trouble breathing. Rick runs to my side and tries to calm me down. "Calm down no is going to hurt you, Rose." I start to calm down but I'm still crying. My voice is quite my Rick hears me "I-I don't like yelling R-rick. I'm sorry I didn't m-mean to make you w-worry." I open my eyes to see Rick frowning "You shouldn't say sorry you told me something that you don't like and we will keep that in mind. I'm also going to worry 'bout you. You are part of this family and family worries 'bout family." I look up at him "I'm family?" he smiles "Of course you are Rose." I slowly stop crying "I-I haven't had a family in a long time." He grabs my hand "Well now you do." I grin "I've wanted one again since I was put in the orphanage." Bobby's eyes widen and he grumbles to himself. Jame crotches next to me, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you, Rose." I smile in his direction "It's ok James I'm used to it." All three frown but bobby is the one to speak up "What do you mean you're used to it, Rose?" I look up at Bobby "I was always being yelled at by Jim at the orphanage. Am I not supposed to be used to it?" "No, not really" This time it was Rick that answers. I look down and frown. I'm supposed to not be used to it huh. I look around "This place is filthy." They all see that I'm trying to change the subject and they let me. "I haven't had time to clean," Bobby mumbles to me. I grin "Well I could help with that." It's all I am good for anyway. "Go nuts kid." I get up and start to clean the house a few hours later I'm done with the cleaning and I start to put all the books away. I grin at my work not noticing the others in the room "This is really all I'm worth. At least I'm good at it." I walk to the kitchen and start to cook some dinner. No food for me I just had something two days ago. "Guys I made dinner" I call out into the house." they all walk in and I hand them all a plate. They all walk to the table and eat I start walking out of the kitchen when Bobby's voice stops me "Are you going to eat kid?" I smile no I'm going to go read one of your books Bobby." I walk to the living room and grab a book about vampires.
