I'm Weston Miller. I'm 22 years old. It's my birthday and that's the same day my debt to society is paid and I'm getting out of prison. I reached out to my brothers, that I need a place to stay for a year minimum. Parole protocol. I haven't seen them since I was 13.
So I'm kind of nervous. They don't know anything about me and I don't know anything about them. I walk out of the prison and the feeling of freedom hits me like a five-finger death punch, but it's sweet.
The sun caresses my face as the summer breeze catches my hair and blows it around my face. The big gates open automatically and I take my first steps out, to freedom. When they're closed I turn around and flip the prison off. I turn my back against the building and walk away from this chapter of my life.
