Boat Ride

When I got outside I could see a lot of students crowding around a big man, I made the assumption he was the man the first years had to go to.

I stood next to my friends and looked at him. He was explaining something about boats, but I was busy looking at my surroundings. It was so weird to finally be here, I mean, everything has building up to this moment.

Light grabbed my hand dragged me along to a boat. I somehow lost track of Rose and Cynthia, so me and Light ended up on a different boat. Light held on to me as we got on to the boat, even when we were just sitting in the boat she still held on to me.

"Are you scared of the water?" I asked her, she nodded, still staring at the water. Well I couldn't blame her, it was pretty dark and deep.

She looked up at me and smiled a little. "Sorry..." She muttered.

"It's fine, it does look pretty scary." I said.

The light of the moon shining on to the water around us was so magical. "What did you want to talk about earlier?" I asked Light. The boat slightly moved as Light moved her feet across the boat.

"I...I just..." Light stayed quiet for a few moments.

" It's nothing special" Light looked at her feet.

"You know you can tell me anything, right?" I asked.

"Yeah...." Light said, still not looking at me. I sighed and looked at the water.

Somewhere behind us there was a lot of screaming.

Light looked behind us, "Is someone in trouble or something?" She asked.

"I'm sure they're fine" I said.

"Okay...But-"

"They're fine, I mean, the first day hasn't even started yet, they can't be in a lot of trouble, It's just some prank" I interrupted her. Light let go of me and put her hands on her lap.

"Yeah....You're probably....Right" She said, looking ahead of us.

After a most uncomfortable silence we finally arrived at where we needed to be.
